Other - A Passion Play by Jethro Tull. Harrison, Lennon and Cooper are other strong candidates.

Rhymin' Simon had Paul at the top of his game so gets my vote . And gotta give an hon. mention to Artie's Angel Clare cos I'm sure no-one else will.

Oh and Cat Stevens Foreigner too.

Toughest poll EVER. The tracks of my years. Own 93% of those listed. However, missing is THE album of '73 and probably the act I've spent most money on through the decades. I humbly offer this, a glaring omission:

  5. Out of the ones listed above, I picked "Innervisions" by Stevie Wonder. "Ship Ahoy" by The O'Jays was a close contender, though.

But your list should've included "Desperado" by The Eagles, and "For Everyman" by Jackson Browne.

In the poll of 1972 I voted for 'Electric Warrior' of T. Rex; a real difficult choice with another favourite of mine, Lou Reed (and his 'Transforner'), in the same poll. Because of my earlier choice I have to compensate this time by voting for Reed's 'Berlin' as favourite album of 1973.

(and now I'm feeling myself guilty for not voting for Bowie's 'Alladin Sane', hope there will be another polls for 1974 or 1975 for being able that time to vote for Bowie; I hate these one-choice-polls!)

Sure "Angel Clare" is a very good one, skillful production by Artie and Roy Halee and terrific songs: "All I Know", "Another Lullaby" or "Travelling Boy".

Dark Side or Quadrophenia? Lots of inner turmoil but I guess it'll have to be DSOM.

anything between 1970-75 is going to be a tough poll. Theses lists are actually difficult to make since half of the good stuff will not fit in 25 spaces on the poll. I have more respect for those that do create these things having tried one out myself. Good job Dandelion1967.

My pick went to Aladdin Sane. I probably played that vinyl more than any record back in the day. It is not my favorite though. It's a close second to A Passion Play. Tull's creepiest and finest. A third pick is to Dark Side of the Moon and fourth to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. What is missing, I'm sure due to lack of space by the OP, is Lynyrd Skynyrd (self-titled album). This one needs to be on there with tunes such as: Freebird, Gimmie Three Steps, Tuesday's Gone, and Simple Man.
