So you're basically disclosing and confirming the release -- but just not the publication date which will presumably be this year to keep any officially unpublished tracks copyright protected in the EU.

 

And after all the drama, debacles, and delays, when The Matrix recordings are finally released in full, it will likely be a bit anticlimactic. What could end up being very intriguing are the rumored 1967 soundboards that will be releasable via public domain, outside of The Doors' control.

 

Now that's the release I want to hear.

IIRC, allegedly a couple of jams. Sound quality should be improved on The Doors' official release, however, it is not exactly a professional recording, so there will still be sonic imperfections.

 

There are two jams that have never been booted. Let's hope that for a complete box that Botnick doesn't use his jarring "on/off" digital noise reduction in the intros like he did on the Matrix disc in the recent 50th box. He NoNoises the intros, then turns it off instead of fading it out, creating the sudden appearance of tape hiss. I'd rather he leaves the tape hiss intact -- NoNoising kills the air around the instruments.

 

Are they still publishing the Isle if Wight Blu Ray / DVD / CD this year? If so, is that going to be an X-MAS 2017 release? If so, where does a complete Matrix box slot into the release roadmap?

 

yes they did, i've seen at least 5 "00000" copies from different sellers in ebay

The Matrix recordings are lackluster dull affairs. Morrison seems half asleep and the band is more or less on auto-pilot. But since there are so few recordings, it's sought after as a document of the time that is better than nothing. The fact that they are milking it out is laughable.

I'd rather hear the crappy quality Miami show, at least it has some spirit to it.

Agreed. There should be a boxset of the 67 shows. The Dead have done similar things with certain eras. Jeff could have Jim singing to Ray on the beach, and he wouldn't release it. As for the clean Miami lovemygirl speaks of, that might be interesting. It's a raw and wild show. Perhaps it can be wrapped in lambskin. Actually, bundling it with the NOLA show and some other stuff in a new beat the boots box would be cool.

 

Is that why they used the bootleg version in their film ?
