Afghan Whigs- Big Top Halloween (pre-Sub Pop debut album; a few tunes were tacked onto the Up In It CD)
This is the first time that I wanted to add a recommended, praised album to my want list and did not find any CD release of it. It is mentioned in several "Best Of Italian Prog Rock" lists (which often include RIO and jazz fusion), but to to say it's a "rarity" is an understatement. Orchestra Njervudarov - Con Le Orecchie Di Eros
the first 2 eric stewart solo albums: girls and frooty rooties some songs from both were on the anthology that came out last year, but neither album has ever been on Cd in its entirety.
Not including Out Of Style on Universal's Collected compilation was a missed opportunity, as it's an excellent career-spanning collection that has the two other songs.
Imo, it didn't just 'end up' on the cd versions of Dead Letter Office. All songs are in sequence and artwork is included as well.
Beware of that Amazon link. It leads you to an on-demand CD-R. Among a bevy of horrid Amazon ideas was this abomination to sell CD-Rs on demand! Eegits!
That's still not a CD release of Chronic Town. Sorry. True, but I'm a bit of a purist. I'd still like a standalone EP on CD.
In related news concerning Hedge Capers, the 1972 movie 'The Legend of Hillbilly John' in which he had the lead role is being reissued on Bluray and DVD for the first time on May 29th - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071Z7HDXP/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I19O7C7X80LHNG&colid=10WC6DH53L9QP&psc=0
I'm sure I could come up with a baker's dozen if I wracked my brain a bit. But for now, I'll stick with these two: Reebop - Reebop Kwaku Baah Reebop Kwaku Baah* - Reebop an alternate take of the song Zagapam is on the Chris Wood Evening Blue set. Apparently the finished album was made by making big edits to the songs. Perhaps the tracks exist un-edited? Son Of Africa - Kabaka (Remi Kabaka) Kabaka* - Son Of Africa only "released" as a test pressing. Two tracks are on the Chris Wood Evening Blue set.
This and his first album were released as Where There's A Will, There's A Way: The ABC Dunhill recordings https://www.amazon.com/Where-Theres-Will-Way-ABC-Dunhill/dp/B00BXHLL6Q
Lenny and the Squigtones Jim Carroll Band - Dry Dreams many albums by Joe and Eddie October Days - Do The Right Thing
I was going to add Lane Changer by Michael Fennelly as well, but an on-line search reveals it has been issued on an affordable CD in the past few years. My vinyl copy was acquired 25 years ago in a massive sale from a television production company that had thousands of records in its library. Thanks to your post, I will now more than likely hold a CD copy in my hands tomorrow evening, listening to it on Spotify at present. I do not even know your name, rob68, but I must say this: I love you.
Has this one ever been released on cd? I know certain artists have been re-issued from these two festivals (Jimi Hendrix, the Allman Brothers, etc). Finally got a copy of the 3lp record set and it was awesome. The First Great Rock Festivals Of The Seventies - Isle Of Wight / Atlanta Pop Festival
Dulli doesn't rate this one (and Up In It, as well) much. Too bad, I like 'em both a lot for what they are.
