Thanks, I couldn't find anything for it. I've been listening to it on Spotify & it's an amazing album, needs a reissue.
David Allan Coe ~ Requiem for a Harlequin I mention this because it's unlike any "country" album ever, but at one point Coe advertised on his site that it would be on CD. It didn't happen. Also, The Bear Family releases of Coe's '70s recordings have been outstanding, so why not this one? My guess is that the master tapes are lost. It's been 44 years since it's original and only (limited) release.
If Ali only would have called himself "Supertramp Related", he would have had a better chance at success? Good albums that may have had master tapes destroyed in that Universal fire? I still have my NM vinyl of both of his albums.
I was just listening to Vanity's Skin on Skin after telling a friend yesterday how it was never released on CD. Childhood fave. I feel like I looked and someone had released a CD in some country....maybe? But, I don't think there was ever a stateside release. 1986. Motown records.
I have both on CD, albeit obviously unofficially released, on the "Lost Diamond" label. Not the best sounding CDs I own though.
yep, he was pretty good and very much unheard. back in the day, i picked up both of his records at the coventry record exchange in a 3 for $1 bin. those were the days. i was there a couple of times when kid leo brought in boxes of promos.......
MX-80 Sound - Out of the tunnel i think it was available sometime, but now can not be found at a decent price
What's the story on the Buckingham-Nicks album, anyway? Is it notably lame or something? Are they embarrassed by it? Certainly there didn't seem to be an attempt to quash the vinyl back in the day, as I recall the album seemed to be pretty common.
Bad Religion need to get over themselves and properly re-release this album - it's actually very good, and not a million miles from a lot of their later work.
Never heard it, and I'm a big fan of their classic era. At the very least, make a paid FLAC download available for fans - my opinion. A CD would be nice also, so long as they don't butcher it like they did with the BR CD remasters (yuck!).
Idris Muhammad - Boogie to the Top Idris Muhammad - You Ain't No Friend of Mine! Idris Muhammad - Foxhuntin' Idris Muhammad - Make It Count The Equals - Mystic Syster Undisputed Truth - Cosmic Truth
Being there when Kid Leo came in had to be a thrill, especially with a box of promos. How much fun would it be to go back in time and see what was in that box, or in other words, releases that even Kid Leo thought were crap! If something couldn't make it on WMMS back in the day, it's chances for any real survival were pretty slim.
those albums were in cut-out bins allover the country, and then the whole fleetwood mac thing happened and they were gone, and everybody that had one wanted a million dollars for it. plain and simple....it should have been on CD years ago, and i have no idea why it wasn't....or isn't to this day.
Kai and JJ the A&M/CTi albums of JJ Johnson and Kai Winding: Betwixt and between Isreal Stone bone. Universal, please here my plea!
These three Scott Walker albums: Scott: Scott Walker Sings Songs from his T.V. Series The Moviegoer Any Day Now
It's certainly a great candidate for a deluxe reissue, with detailed liner notes telling the whole crazy story behind the album and its fallout.
The members of RP would argue that these unauthorized releases amount to bootlegging their work. And they didn’t give up any tapes for the releases.
You've probably heard about it, but there's a Donnie Iris book coming out in March. 500 pages! A new Donnie Iris biography deserves holiday gift consideration
