Maybe it is these days. I ate there in California in the '90s and they served broasted chicken, not rotisserie.

I miss Po' Folks and wish someone would resurrect it. I remember reading in Buddy Killen's autobio how misappropriation of funds had a large part in the chain's demise. In one instance, the paper trail traced a 6-figure check being cashed in a Las Vegas casino.

Hey, I'll try a graham cracker-crusted pineapple ring at least once.

Good stuff. Grew up on it!

We make these things called. Armadillo Eggs. You stuff a fresh jalapeno with cream cheese and then stuff it inside a ball of Jimmy Dean spicy sausage and cook 'em on the grill.

He certainly knew how to make great sausage (or maybe more likely he knew people who knew how to make great sausage).

It's the brand I'll look for first.

I actually only know him as "that guy from the sausage commercials". I didn't know until a few years ago that he was an entertainer.

Are you referring to restaurant chains or my waistline? :)

Didn't McDonalds have a pineapple burger for a short time?

They may have been ahead of their time, given the plethora of vegans and vegetarians nowadays.

If they bring it back, they might want to change the name - and don't call it the Aloha Burger:

I wish Garth Brooks had gotten into the fried food business instead of Walmart.

How's he supposed to sell his music at a fried food place? Walmart types are the ones who will buy his music.

Wow, I had no idea this place even existed.

Seems like it fell into the trap of a lot of these theme restaurants- too much focus on the theme and not enough focus on quality food or good service.

Oh hell, there's all kinds of music I don't listen to or don't like... but there's a market out there for almost everything.
