Got it today, It's nice. The packaging of the 40th is much nicer in my opinion.

I like the new documentary " In My Mind " .

I haven't watched the episodes on this set but I am sure they are exact the same as the 40th blu ray set.

Haven’t heard about this yet. Is it a UK only set?

    I like my DVD box.
But, must admit the 50th Anniversary Blu Ray box looks inviting.

There was a limited version that contained the bluray set, a book, and a long presentation box but I don't have that one sadly.

I got the limited edition of the 40th . It's a nice long black box which houses the Blu Ray and the Book. It's nice. I kinda rather it to the 50th

How does the 50th compare to the 40th, especially regarding the picture quality and any extras? Is the 50th an improvement?

It seems exact same picture quality. The bonus is the new documentary which is nice. Nothing amazing but I like it. I still I think overall the 40th is superior.

When the DVD Box was released circa 2000, 3 cd soundtracks came out the same time.

Are you referring to the DVD set, because those protocols don't apply for blu-ray. The only concern with blu-ray is the region-coding.

Right. I love my Oppo so I want to stick with that. Unfortunately it’s not compatible.
