The box set I have seen the sales trailer for is the Network box, and that’s what I based my comments on: gorgeous sharpness and color, but no film grain in view at all. The image is pretty but sterile; it doesn’t look like film.

Thanks for sharing the news on the Titan Comics series, plus the HC edition release of the Marvel attempt!

He’s a peculiar guy. Always seems slightly agitated and grumpy in pretty much every role I’ve seen him in. Dig him but he would be a poor choice for Bond.

Any set that does not have the Warner Troyer commentaries is a failure in my book. I believe they still exist. Someone purportedly involved in at least one of the past sets indicated that they do (though he did not say why they have yet to be included). I'd buy a DVD that just had those and nothing else.

I obtained a photocopy of "The Prisoner Puzzle" book. Was that ever released? Troyer got some credit for that.

How would Go to Jail work, when the entire Village is one big internment camp?

Dice with no number one on them. The possibilities are there.

You would have thought a box like this would be popular, niche market..limited edition, sold out.

I guess Rover could act as the Go to Jail feature. Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 credits.

Warner Troyer's 1977 interview with McGoohan is included in the 50th Anniversary set, but not his individual commentaries.

The Prisoner Puzzle was published by The Ontario Educational Communications Authority/TVOntario in 1978. I assume it had no distribution outside the province of Ontario. The also published a second booklet, The Prisoner Program Guide, in the same year.

The Prisoner Puzzle is available in several different file formats at the Internet Archive.

Thanks for posting that. I see that the copy on the Internet Archive has a 1976 copyright date. Mine is from 1978 and has been revised to incorporate material from Troyer's interview with McGoohan into both the Introduction and Epilogue.

I remember a 4-issue Prestige Format comic series by DC back in 1988. I can't remember the content for the life of me - whether it was a retelling of the TV series, or a new story. Based on the covers for Book B and Book C, I'm thinking the latter:

  22. Wow, that DC series completely passed me by. I'm guessing it's never been reprinted in a trade.

It's a sequel mini-series which does some damage to "Fall Out" (like Planet Zeist bad) to justify its existence. It might be why Patrick said he "didn't hate it".

If you're interested, Titan Comics will be republishing it early next year.
