    Not a cd but this DVD is great ! It's from 1963. In his performing band are Fathead Newman and Margie Hendrix. :)

    Just slightly beyond your time frame, but featuring many pre-1963 artists, would be all the Murray the K live stuff that often showed up on so many LP comps over the years. Live Shangri-las, a wonderful live "Walk on By" by Dionne Warwick, etc.

    Looks like this is gathers many if not all of these tracks. Great backing band, and some fine live performances by many. I guess maybe it's more pop than rock, but very good pop indeed.

    Jerry Lee Lewis Live At the Star Club...one of the greatest live recordings ever made.
