7,000 Afghan films being preserved, previously hidden from the Taliban

Big news for movie buffs. 7,000 films worth of Afghanistan's cinematic history are now being digitized and preserved after a dark Taliban-led era which saw popular arts banned under their reign from 1996 to 2001.

Thanks for sharing that! People risking their lives to preserve film. It's hard to remember that Afghanistan was once a reasonably modern, cosmopolitan country before the Soviets came in.
