87th Academy Awards/Oscars (2015) live thread

OK folks. Let's settle in for 3 or 4 hours of the Oscars. I'm pulling for good Calgary sisters Tegan and Sara. They're up for the Best Original Song award for “Everything Is Awesome”.

Who do you think will win in the various categories? Who would you like to win?

I think the big awards will go to Birdman, Michael Keaton, Julianne Moore, J.K. Simmons and Patricia Arquette.

I hope A Single Life wins for Best Animated Short. I saw the whole thing earlier today on CBS Sunday Morning. Brilliant stuff.

J.K. Simmons should take this first award with no problem. If he doesn't, it's going to be a crazy night.

Are Oscar shows always this boring or is this one worse than usual?

 

Pretty classless how many people WEREN'T clapping for the six young film makers...

 

This seems pretty boring.... I don't know why I bother to watch every year... fool me once....

 

And I think it's a long wait now until the next major award. Hopefully there are some funny speeches before then. Or a wardrobe malfunction. Something.

 

This is kind of a bland year to me. I don't really give a crap over most of the movies nominated.

 

Too bad he didn't give the speech as the character he played in the movie. Now THAT would have been something!
