30 sec. clips. Uncompressed and loaded from EAC rips: Great Gig In The Sky: Sax Remaster (current, widely available individual CD - not from box) http://z28.zupload.com/download.php?file=getfile&filepath=5377 US Capitol (Sony DADC Pressing) CDP 7 46001 2 (DIDX 226 131A10) http://z28.zupload.com/download.php?file=getfile&filepath=5455 Anyone care to post a clip of one of the holy grail versions for comparison? These are the two versions I currently have and I prefer the old Capitol. I don't have the MFSL any longer (no thanks) and the SACD is a bit too futzed with for my taste. This old Capitol is hissier than the Sax remaster and probably from an inferior tape, but it doesn't have even a hint of EQ that I can detect. And in the louder sections this really becomes apparent. The Sax isn't bad, but the drums don't sound as warm and natural as the Capitol. The Capitol sounds more natural to my ears, but I'd love to hear a version that's even better!
