I have too many to list! But basically, if I buy it, it's because I want to watch it again, and be able to choose WHEN I'd like to watch it. Often, it will be something I watch to fall asleep to, or to watch on one monitor while I work on another. :shh: Kids are also notorious for watching movies over and over...my daughters could have something on infinite repeat on some days. Like the weekend before last, it was that dawg-awful live action Scooby Doo movie. (I wouldn't even let them watch it down here--it was banished to their computer!)

I just can't rewatch movies either. I own 15-20 VHS/DVD movies and rarely watch them again, but I will watch these repeatedly:

    -any Star Wars movie
-"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"
    -"Tootsie"
    -"Blue Velvet"
    -"Bull Durham"
-and especially, "A League of Their Own"

  7. In chronolgical order. Numbers denote the current Internet Movie Datbase's top 250 films. Most of the films on my list I own on DVD except Eraserhead which is only available from http://www.lynchnet.com/eraserhead/dvdreview.html and I can't figure out how to buy the disc there.

    Fantasia (1940 USA) (#237)
    Double Indemnity (1944 USA) (#44)
The Big Sleep (1946 USA) (#108)
Eraserhead (1977 USA) (have seen it about 25-30 times theatrically)
    Diva (1981 France)
    Rumble Fish (1983 USA)
This Is Spinal Tap (1984 USA) (#200)
37°2 le matin aka Betty Blue (1986 France)
Lola rennt aka Run Lola Run (1998 Germany)
Almost Famous - The Bootleg Cut (2000 USA) (#168)
    Traffic (2000) (#235 USA)
Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain aka Amélie of Montmartre aka Amélie (2001 France) (#25)

That's 13, but Dave had 25 or so in his list. :)

Also most Stanley Kubrick films (I own the remastered DVD box set) and Alfred Hitchock films (I have a couple/3 Criterion DVDs) I'd watch again. And two made for TV movies that I watch a couple times a year include The Rutles - All You Need Is Cash and The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour.

Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray and Edward G. Robinson - Double Indemnity.

    Not a thread crap exactly:

That type of joke is part of an ongoing tradition in England, basically making fun of the French, of dumb self-taught language courses, and of, well, themselves. There was a column in the humour magazine (well, more like sarcasm and acid wit magazine) Punch, called "Let's Parlez Franglais!" that turned into a book and then a comedy show, all around the same time that the Pythons did Holy Grail.

As to my twelve, I'm still compiling the list.

Ken, I'm quite amazed how similar the nominations are turning out.

I was expecting a list of heavies from you, but your list is in keeping with the rest of us.
