Let alone the ones who paid top dollar through zappa.com to get any of those titles on offer for at least twice the amount of money! :shake: :realmad: :realmad:

I'm glad I got whatever I have of this through GandS.com or Ebay/Amazon and I'm really happy I finally can fill in the gaps of Zappa's back catalogue for a decent amount of money. I've got mouths to feed, you know!

Phew. Gonna have to cherry pick 4 or 5 of these sets at least. I'm getting ready to sweat it out already. Listening to Dale Bozzio on the kit gets my heart rate going PDQ.

I once made a pretty awesome 2-disc compilation that drew some people in.
I'll check out later what the tracklist was, don't have it at hand now.

Dale Bozzio performs with Zappa but as a vocalist.
    Joe's Garage, Baby Snakes, ThingFish.

That was a pretty weak attempt at making the funny. Sorry.

My Zappa-collection has aberrations anyway. The Ryko Uncle Meat went out of the door this weekend because I've got Meat Lite and no use for the penalty tracks. Same will happen with Ruben & The Jets once I'll get Greasy Love Songs. I've got both (and Freak Out) on vinyl anyway, warts 'n all!

Meat Lite is in UM's spot, MoFo is in Freak Out's spot and Greasy LS will be in Cruisin's spot. There's no point in keeping both when the only main difference is added reverb.

Anybody know of a new CD release in a white box with just
the Barking Pumpkin logo? Can't find it on the web anywhere.

I'm surprised Gail never bundled up all the penalty tracks as one disc, since apparently she had a neurotic resentment for her husband's fans. Just think, she could have given a concrete release date for the Roxy film...and then at the last minute, withdrawn it and instead offered up "The Complete Piano Saga"...with special bonus penalty tracks from the spoken excerpts from Playground Psychotics! :D

    We got off easy!

Yeah, but the Ryko contained the SECOND BOOK-LET!
At least, the first edition did!

My copy of Civilization Phaze III came in a white box fitting that description back in 1995. I can link to a picture later.

    I'm not judging...
I had all three "Old Masters" box set... and sold 'em on eBay, during the depression....
but, still..I wonder if the new UMe re-issue has it!

The vinyl reissue has it, but I'm not sure about the 2012 CD. I will say that it was kind of weird seeing both of the Joe's Garage booklets squeezed into a slim jewel case.

That's exactly what I had to do after my lovely family moved to the States. Bye bye to the fatboys. I even had Uncle Meat in a slimline double-case, with both booklets and cd-r with the stuff that 'matters' tucked in! I tried as well with 200 Motels (which is still OOP right now), but those inners are massive, that one flew over with fatboy case and all.

I dumped all of my jewel cases and converted my entire collection to JazzLoft sleeves a couple of years ago. It saved me tons of space, but the purist in me still kind of misses them.

Unless you like your multitracks to bleed your ears you will stay away from Buffalo.

    Everything else though is money.

    Imaginary Diseases in amazing.
If you like Wazoo, it is better because it has a lot more FZ guitar on it.
    I didn't like FZ O z as much.
A lot more vocals and nonsense from Frank.
But, I much prefer the instrumental part of Frank's music.

I also wonder if "Thing-Fish" comes with the script, too.
I think I WILL have to get the re-issue of this, too!

I actually did wind up buying the 2012 Thing-Fish since I sold my 1995 Ryko several years ago (what can I say - as terrible as it is, it needs to be in my collection). The 2012 booklet is a little different: it moves the front cover to the front of the booklet and the photo of Frank and Ike to the back. The libretto is intact.
