Cool! He was on That Metal Show one season as an audience member. He is a big music fan, and will probably do Zappa justice.

There must be a lot of footage to play with, for all his distaste for the corporate machine - Zappa was an endless self promoter, like showing up on the Steve Allen show to "play" a bicycle. I love Frank, but sometimes he was just too much Frank.

That was pre fame, pre MOI. Obviously, he wanted exposure, but I'd hardly hold that against him. It's either get exposed or go back to selling encyclopedias.

I just hope that the focus will be on the music, and not on inflatable dolls, groupies, politics, clay animation and freaks.
Music is the best, and Frank's music is the best music!:)

  13. I guess this is also good for Gail and the family and will renew interest in Frank's Catalog, ZPZ, etc.

I'm willing to have Gail sanitize things and eliminate all the references to sexual things and body functions. Frank was a serious musician at heart and, although his reach sometimes exceeded his grasp, he always aimed for something unique, different, and challenging. The delusionary part will be where the film will try and equate albums like Ship Arriving to Hot Rats. Things need to be put in context. Frank was prolific and not everything he did was great, especially given the way times and attitudes changed after 1967.

You can bet there will be a big focus on the Congressional appearance and the Tipper Gore loonies.
