A great album for sure but overrated. Everyone namedrops Powerage and it seems to have a cool factor about it but for me Highway To Hell is by far and away the best Bon album, and second best AC/DC album period (after Back In Black).

Back In Black is not the best AC/DC album. It's not even the best Brian AC/DC album.

AC/DC are in my top two absolute favourite bands ever, and Back In Black is one of my desert island discs. I perhaps didn't word my post properly and I don't want to come across as a 'hater' because I'm most certainly not. It's just that so many people have Powerage as their favourite AC/DC album and whilst most of them are solid, for me Highway To Hell is the pinnacle of the Bon era. However I never see this one praised, nor High Voltage. It's always Powerage.

    That's highly subjective mate.
    Best Brian albums for me:

    Back In Black
    Fly On The Wall
    Blow Up Your Video
    The Razor's Edge

Powerage is a desert island album for me! I overwhelmingly prefer the UK vinyl mix/version with the glaring exception of "What's Next to the Moon". For that one the final mix has the special sauce.

    My Brians:

    For Those About To Rock
    Back In Black
    Blow Up Your Video
    Flick Of The Switch

My Bons (all of which IMO are better than all the Brians, apart from FTATR sometimes):

    Powerage
    Highway
    TNT, or non-Oz High Voltage
    Let There Be Rock
    Dirty Deeds (Oz)

Revisionism has certainly boosted Powerage's standing, with one magazine even recently acclaiming it the best album of the 70's. For me it's one of the lesser Bon albums, with too many tracks sounding dashed off and unpolished. LTBR is their apex - a serious, mean, full tilt rock 'n' roll album. HTH was the start of the slicker, more bombastic sound which appeals less to me, but I still have it ahead of Powerage.

A delux Powerage is definitely needed. If it were me ide have the original international 9 track with Cold Hearted Man added in the same position as it is on the German 10 track LP. Then use the UK rough mix as the bonus disc, cant remember if the single edit of Cold Hearted Man the same as the UK rough mix version? If it is different ide use the single edit version for the album proper.

maybe their policy will change if they actually disband after one last tour cycle, who knows... they are like the old Soviet Union, you never get to know what's happening, until it happens

I mean they haven't even done a best of and I admire them for that. If there is another album and tour it's Angus Young and friends, not AC/DC.

They need to can the 74 jailbreak cd and issue the original Aussie albums.
Add love at first feel on the end of the dirty deeds album and cold hearted man on the end of powerage
If they have any other extra tracks, all the better.

What is the difference in the mix between the UK and final release? Is there a drastic difference in the mix.

This is my fave album. Love the songs and the lyrics. Just such a good album. The Riffs! What's next to the Moon just a builder that rocks. Great record. I'd love a live show from this era. Or maybe a record made up of live versions of all these songs in order of the lp. That would be cool.

I have the ten track Euro vinyl with Cold Hearted Man, Riff Raff on the end of Side One does suffer from IGD as a consequence.

Deluxe Editions are not AC/DCs style, they don't even have a best of, which is pretty much unheard of for a legacy rock band.
