I live in the south. Why do I even bother clicking on 'Band you like announces new tour dates!' links?

Very excited for the Toronto show at Downsview Park! And yes, Ontario has annexed Quebec province's capital city. Rock on.

Too much trouble to show up in Atlanta I guess.
Band seems tired and fragmented at this point anyway.

Here's that 'tired and fragmented' looking band playing to some young, vital faces in the crowd:

Young but certainly not vital at this point in their career.
The performance was lacking overall and seemed to just plod along.

I noticed the lack of gigs in the southern US too. Then, after looking at the time frame for the tour, combined with the fact that they are playing mostly outside, I realized these locations may have been chosen to avoid playing in 100 degree weather. These guys are probably too old to play in Texas in August. On the other hand, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas and Houston all have domes the band could play in, so who knows.

Here's the venues and onsale dates. Sucks it's an all-stadium tour:

August 22 - Foxborough, MA Gillette Stadium - On Sale February 16
August 26 - E. Rutherford, NJ MetLife Stadium - On Sale February 16
August 28 - Quebec City, ON Plains Of Abraham - On Sale February 16
August 31 - Montreal, QC Olympic Stadium - On Sale February 16
September 3 - Ottawa, ON TD Place - On Sale February 16
September 5 - Moncton, NB Magnetic Hill - On Sale February 16
September 8 - Detroit, MI Ford Field - On Sale February 16
September 10 - Toronto, ON Downsview Park - On Sale February 16
September 15 - Chicago, IL Wrigley Field - On Sale February 16
September 20 - Edmonton, AL Commonwealth Stadium - On Sale February 16
September 22 - Vancouver, BC BC Place - On Sale February 16
September 25 - San Francisco, CA AT&T Park - On Sale February 15
September 28 - Los Angeles, CA Dodger Stadium - On Sale February 16

If I was to go, it would be the Dodger Stadium gig which is an automatic pass for me as I hate the place, horrible acoustics (even for a stadium) and awful parking. Worse, it appears the floor/field is all reserved seating. Thanks but no thanks, guys.

I would not be surprised if more dates were added - NYC and Philly for instance.

    E. Rutherford, NJ is the NY Giants stadium, so that's your NY date. Pretty short drive from Philly, too.

Yeah, but gimme a break, they're not playing with the exact same energy and vitality as they did in 1983, a mere 32 years ago. How dare they take the stage at the Grammys and do a good job, how dare they. I'm staying home with my Katy Perry and Taylor Swift iTunes files, so there. Well said, masterbucket, in a better world no rocker older than 45 would be allowed to take the stage. :D

    I believe it is!

    (edit) From wiki...
On 7 February 2015, Slade confirmed on his Facebook page that the AC/DC drum stool is "under old management." The next day, he performed with AC/DC at the Grammys. Additionally, Slade will serve as the band's drummer for the duration of their 2015 tour.

Wrigley in mid-September seems awfully risky, weather wise - it could be downright freezing when that wind whips around after the sun goes down. I saw them in the mid-80's and might go again just for kicks, although frankly they seemed past their prime even then.

Same experience for me. It was kind of a letdown back then, 87 or 88. I'm glad they're actually playing in the city of Detroit... at Ford Field. Hopefully tickets won't be outrageous.

They definitely sounded tired in that clip, but I think that's mostly Slade playing to a click track that's at least 8 clicks too slow. I do like the new record quite a bit.

Wow I thought they would be playing the indoor E.Rutherford arena (don't recall what they call it this week - used to be Brendan Byrne). Did not think they would have a stadium sized draw. Have they done a full US stadium tour before?

I expect they will add some more dates as 13 shows over 38 days is quite a leisurely pace.

Big gaps before NJ and on either side of Chicago

Why they take a 69 years old drummer on tour? Chris Slade can't handle the drums..... reminds me to Bill Ward.

If they can play baseball there mid-September, they can play a concert! :D

IIRC, they shut down the Izod Center recently. All northern NJ shows go to Prudential Center these days.

If AC/DC adds dates, I'll be curious to see if they stay stadium-only. I don't think they can play stadiums at more than a handful of cities, so I'd be surprised to see them do a "true stadium tour", but I could be wrong...
