  2. This makes me really sad. A terrific actor. Even in crap films, he made it something more elevating the material and the great stuff would be less without him. All the signs of a great actor but, more importantly, he reportedly treated his co-stars well a rarity in this ego driven business.

Damn. I've enjoyed his acting for as long as I can remember. He was unique. And he was memorable. I can say he made a very clear and important impression on me.

A lot of people are going to be upset that he's not going to be in this year's In Memoriam montage, but the cut-off date was December 31, 2016.

I'm really sorry to hear this, Bill has been a favourite of mine ever since I saw him on the big screen in Aliens. RIP.

Nice but it misses my favourite quote: when Ripley proposes to go up to the mothership and nuke all the aliens from there - Hudson: "F***in' A!"

The standard protocol is for the anesthesiologist to give anti-coagulants to anyone at risk of stroking during surgery, but I figure he was one sick puppy to die during surgery. RIP. Seemed like a really fun guy. Not stuck on himself.

He was terrific, as was the rest of the cast, in the "B grade movie" One False Move. Rottentomatoes gives it 98%, and it was one taunt, tense well-written thriller:

No, they go from the last Oscars to now. They don't do the in memoriam segment by calendar year. Every year people get upset because they think someone was left out who died last year, but they died before the previous Oscars (this year it will be Alan Rickman).

His name sounds very familiar, but I have never seen any of the films he was in. Still, very unexpected news.
