    Deja vu time.

Actors that basically make the same film over and over again.

Liam Neeson springs to mind these past ten years with his revenge movies.

Actors make their formula studio pictures, then use that money to make the art house vanity projects that hardly anyone will ever see.

The criminals think that they're Above The Law; but Steven Seagal is Hard To Kill. He's been Marked For Death and he's still Out For Justice.

I'm waiting for a time travel Rocky where he meets Doc Brown and goes back in time to 1976 in a DeLorean and mentors his younger self.

Neeson can do another 10 'Taken' films for all I care.
I know he doesn't want to, but I'm the paying customer!
Give me more of what I want!

Penelope Cruz stared in two versions of the same film.
Open Your Eyes and Vanilla Sky.
Both were excellent but I liked the Spanish version a bit more.

The Spanish version is better but the Bob Dylan Freewheelin’ reference in Vanilla Sky gave me the chills. I love that album cover because that was how I felt in the Village with my girlfriend back in the days. I found myself watching that one scene again and again inserting myself in the frame like the movie character.

Pacino. Too many cops and gangsters roles when he could have done more Glengarry Glen Ross. Ditto Deniro

I would agree. He use to do many different types of films. Now he does the same films over and over. I guess at this point in his career it doesn't matter. He has nothing else to prove.

I've never seen the original (I know, shame on me) but Cameron Crowe is a great music guy and I really like how Vanilla Sky starts with that Radiohead song. Lyrically it's a very clever reference to what is to come and the almost stuttering sound (inherent to the original mix) also suggests that there is something 'off' in what you are seeing. One of the most perfect combinations of a scene and an already existing song.

Pitt? I think he has great range and his filmography really reaches a lot of different places. He's comfortable in comedy and serious dramas, can play the hard man but also the sensitive one, is not afraid to play the fool. A very underated actor imo. If you look at his best films I wouldn't say any of his roles were similar:

    Seven
    12 Monkeys
    Fight Club
    Troy Fury
    Benjamin Button
    Inglorius Basterds

I've heard for decades about Vanilla sky. It was finally free on one of the streaming services so I turned it on and FORCED my self through 20 minutes before I just had to turn it off.

I just don't get it. It is to movies what a concert bootleg tape is to music. There may be some sort of gem there, but the editing, directing, acting, and just about everything else is just awful. I mean, really, REALLY bad. And not in a "so bad it's good" way.

    Or am I missing something?
