She was for many years one of John Sayles' go-to actresses, and that's how I think of her...She was great in Sayles' short lived TV series, Shannon's Deal.

It's funny: Just last night, out of the blue, I suddenly thought of her and wondered what she was up to...

Very sad to hear this. La Bamba was a great film with a great soundtrack, and she was terrific in it.

That's much too young. My wife and I have enjoyed her work in countless movies and shows. I remember first seeing her in the Ruben Blades movie Crossover Dreams.

Bummer, my sister and I enjoyed the shortlived I Married Dora which was notable for having a very meta ending that kind of blew my mind in the pre-internet era. She was always great whenever she would show up in things - excellent actress, and sexy in an under the radar way.

She was fantastic in "Lone Star" with Chris Cooper.

Looking at her IMDB....I did not realize that she was the voice of Mirage on "The Incredibles".

  14. So sad!

Great in everything she was in, but, a few of my absolute faves with her are...Tortilla Soup, How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer, *batteries not included and Lone Star.

    Rest in peace, pretty lady.

 First one that came to mind – she was the pregnant girl. I liked her voice work on The Incredibles too. Very sad that she passed so young.

Indeed; I thought she was cute as well.

In addition to the previously-mentioned films Jacob's Ladder, Rush Hour, and Batteries Not Included, she was also in Impostor and Blue Steel....

I know her from a small independent film by Allison Anders called THINGS BEHIND THE SUN (Nick Drake's music is used). She played the owner of a house where nasty things happened to lead actress Kim Dickens:

Amen to that. Lone Star is one of my top ten favorite movies, in which she was wonderful; it was quite a few years before I realized she had been the hilarious maid in Down And Out In Beverly Hills.
