AFLAC duck commercials

Discussion in 'Visual Arts' started by rgallison, Oct 28, 2009.

  1. I love these commercials. I can't get enough of them.
The newest I've seen is the one of the 2 moms at a soccer game.
What is really neat is they have had the same black guy in almost every commercial. I hope they continue to make these commercials.

Right now, I am imagining the AFLAC duck telling "The Aristrocrat"...!

I love 'em too. A few years ago, I was playing golf with a guy who had AFLAC duck head covers. We got chatting and a few days later, an AFLAC "duck" came in the mail. It is squeezabkle and does the whole "AFLAAAAAAC" deal. Drives my wife crazy......

one annoying individual. he opened for buster poindexter years ago. my friend played with buster so we were backstage. gilbert was in character and quite loud to the point that buster was just about to toss him out.

A bit off point, but Gilbert Gottfried is one of those guys whose mere face makes me smile, at the least. I thought he was "the duck," but I was not sure.

I haven't seen any of these in a while. I used to see them on the Yankees' telecasts but now all we get is those stupid caveman commericals from Geico.

I saw a guy yesterday who was the spitting image of the silent but reactive black guy in the commercials. I wanted to ask if he was the guy but thought it would be insulting if he wasn't....

The silent actor in the Aflac commercials is Earl Billings.
He used to be on "What's Happening" as Roz' boss at the hangout.

A guy goes into a talent agent's office...

Nobody tells that like Gilbert. He's far from my favorite comic, but there's certain things he does extremely well.

Love those commercials. My all time favorite is an old one....the one on the roller coaster.

I also love these commercials, they're so stupid, but I love 'em.

And Earl Billings also turned up in a funny Southwest Airlines commercial a couple years ago as the football referee who makes a big mistake with a ruling, and the question is asked "Want to get away?"

I think he's pretty funny, in doses. He never seems to leave character anymore. Watching him on the infamous 80-81 season of Saturday Night Live is kind of jolting.

He was hilarious on the documentary about 80s-era SNL though, just coming out and saying 'Oh we sucked!'. :)

My favorite one is the one with Yogi Berra in the Barber Shop: [IMG]"and they give you cash, which is just as good as money" :biglaugh:

He's great. His reactions certainly "sell" the commercials.

Because of these commercials, every time I see Ben Affleck on TV I feel compelled to yell "AFLAC!"
