A little more information, please? For instance, just in case this is about the afterlife...which one in the picture plays "Ricky"...?

Watched 4 of the 6 episodes last night.
I liked it. It alternates between ornery Ricky and sweet human Ricky.
I liked the Sandy character, a woman of few words.

That dog keeps saving his life.

I went thru 3 episodes and really like this show. Reminds me a bit his Invention of Lying.

That's good news! I plan to watch this series this weekend.

    I adore his Derek series.

I started the first episode late last night, but then promptly fell asleep, when I woke up, I saw that it ran through 4 episodes, before it stopped itself.
    I'll try again later.

I like it, has the heart of his previous work without the mawkish of Derek.
    Great cast too.

I finished up the season. This show can be funny, sad, crude and heartwarming. I think Gervais may just be a genius.

I binged it all in one sitting last night and loved it. It's soooo dark in places but hilarious in others, and also warm. It's a balance not many are able to pull off. Really good and powerful song choices too.

In the scene where he calmly hands the guy money to buy drugs and kill himself, most writers/directors would not have the nerve to have it play out the way that it did. And then to take it further by having Tony not feel any guilt at the outcome, but rather that he still felt he did something merciful was...wow.

    In.

Ricky Gervais is my favorite performing comedian/actor ever. *

    *Though “Derek” was wretched.

Does anyone know what the songs were in the final episode? One of them sounded like Matthew Sweet but I didn't recognize it.

I was unaware of it until I read a scathing review at the AV Club site. I usually enjoy Gervais' work, so I thought I'd give it a try. It can't be as bad as the review.

I turned it off after watching half of the first episode. I agree with the review. His character is selfish and obnoxious. Several things were a bit funny, but overall it's very unpleasant.

Maybe I was just in the wrong mood, so I'll try again another time.

  19. No, he's hurt and grieving and lashing out like a wounded animal. Stick with it and you'll see his journey.

It’s from that one off Thorns record he did with (I think) Pete Droge and Shawn Mullins.

    I liked this a lot.

Seemed like a long movie as opposed to a series, though. There seems very little to go on here with a second season. It could be done, but probably shouldn’t.

I say stick with it. I’m 3 episodes in and the characters develop.
