Which Albert King album(s) have the most superior sonics -- out of all his albums and available compilations?

I have "Born Under a Bad Sign" mastered by MFSL, "King of the Blues Guitar", "Live Wire", "In Session", "Lost Sessions, and "The Ultimate Collection".

Still haven't found a "Born Under a Bad Sign" mastering that I love. Maybe it's just technical limitations that cannot be surmounted by further remastering, but I'd like to know.

I will just say the SRV and Albert King In Session is great just for the banter between the two. Of course, the music is stellar also.

I had no idea about the early (before Stax) period of Albert King until I got and listened (3 times in a day) this CD:

I am amazed by the fluent virtuosity of these sides that is not so present as with the 60s Stax recs. I think this is Bloomfield's major influence (two of the tracks in this collection were part of Mike's repertory : "Dont throw your love on me so strong" and "Dont you lie to me" a titles that carries another name in this Albert king collection).

"I Get Evil" is the original title of Mike's "Don't you lie to me".

Albert King opening for Jimi Hendrix at Winterland. John Mayall sat on the side of the stage soaking it all in. I knew of Albert, but had never heard him until this night. Born Under A Bad Sign album is essential

The 3 Kings! No one can touch them. They are in a class of their own. BB, Freddie, and Albert. The more I hear them the less interest I have in hearing anyone who emulates them. Why hear the imitators when you can listen to the originators? (Jimi Hendrix being the one obvious exception being an originator in his own right) Albert King was a tremendous player. He was a blues man in the truest sense of the word. I have and love all of the albums mentioned and I love that on so many of his records he was supported by Booker T & The MG's, giving his blues a much funkier flavor than most. But the one I love the most is 'Blues At Sunrise'. He is in great form on that one, firing on all cylinders, his tone is wicked, and it's just a fantastic performance overall.

Does anyone know how the remaster of "I'll Play The Blues For You" sounds? I love the mastering of the old cd but this new one has a few bonus tracks.

I honestly believe that Live Wire/Blues Power is the finest example of live Blues guitar playing in existence.

I'm looking to purchase Live Wire/ Blues Power and the Wednesday and Thursday Fillmore Cd's, during my research here I hear about the 2001 24 bit remasters released in Germany of these albums but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Should I try to find those or would the 1989/1990 CD releases found at Amazon just as good, can get those pretty cheap but I want best quality and will pay more if needed. thx

Back in 2004 I went to Memphis and fell into a small back street bar with my buddy Hodge. We paid the princely sum of $2 to pass into the bar. On stage was a smokin’ little combo called Little Jimmy King & the Blues Survivors. They were pretty good to. Towards the end of the set little Jimmy said “Ladies & Gentlemen - i’d like to bring on my grandfather- Albert King”. And up he stepped and played “Laundromat” and a couple of others. Great memory. Not longer after he was dead.
