Lot of art in this thread that would be a real stretch to describe as "famous" :)

Still, pretty interesting so not meant as a criticism.

Pearls Before Swine used this illustration on an album cover circa 1970, and prior to that they were the first band to use Bosch on an album cover.

Yes, as I noted. Not surprisingly, Magritte's original is entitled "Le Principe du Plaisir".

There are Hugo van der Goes "Sündenfall" (ca. 1470), Jan van Eick "The Arnolfini Marriage" (1434) and a lot of Hieronymus Bosch, maybe some Pieter Bruegel the Elder (I think the guy with the bagpipe).

    [IMG] [IMG]

[Edit: Yes, I've found the guy: Pieter Bruegel the Elder "The Peasant Dance" (1568)]

The relation between music and other art forms it's a partnership. An album cover can promote a plastic artist and a plastic artist can promote musicians.
This black-and-white photo received widespread attention when Eva von Zeppelin threatened the band before a gig. The perfect cover for the album with a perverse effect.
