Album covers you don't like that much and wish another cover was originally used instead

Queen's News of the World is very amateurish ! Would like to see any others that where considered for that album!

This defeats Ken "By Request Only" and the "Fingerless Fiddler" as worst cover in the history of ever. Wow.

I would get this compilation but I already have two already.

 

No one has brought up the Beggar's Banquet cover yet. While most people like the "authentic" toilet cover I find it gross and much prefer the white RSVP on the album I inherited from my sister as a kid. But what I REALLY love is the inside shot, which though awesome as a panorama, could have been cropped or been substituted for an alternate shot from the session that would have made for a perfect cover for the title. Though it suggests the likes of Lady Jane a bit more than Prodigal Son.

 

The original Australian ACDC covers really suck

 

I struggle to even imagine what is going on there. It looks like she got caught taking a dump in a urinal.

 

This cover was perfect for the moment, mood, and league of rock music that these guys were in at the time. This cover goes hand in glove with "In Through the Out Door," and "Lovedrive."

 

Well this has to take the cake...whoever these guys are

 

What!? I mean, yes it's not a Storm Thorgerson picture and such, but it has some Hipgnosis feeling there though IMO.

I had that in mind as well. Very good portrait of him.

 

And from someone I've actually heard of, this is not very appealing:

 

Suede can't do anything wrong in my book. I even like A New Morning. But the cover is pretty bad, and looks even worse between their other albums' and singles' artwork.

 

Yeah, that is absolutely their worst album cover. I can't believe someone sold them on using that.

 

Too bad. You're missing out. It's a great album. The only one with this lineup and this approach.

 

I'm surprised by how many people miss what's going on in this cover. Look more closely. It appears she's trying to erase some graffiti (presumably some nasty words about her) from the side of the toilet stall, and was startled when someone - perhaps the cameraman - walked in on her.

I've looked over the previous submittals. I like everyone of those album covers better than Rainbow's Straight Between the Eyes.
The Album Title sucks all by itself. The depicted artwork is worst.
They could have used Bring on the Night before Sting did. Nope, not doing that.
Could have used Death Alley Driver, nope. Could have used Stone Cold, nope.
Could have used, Eyes of Fire, not using that either.

They went went with this abomination.

I never liked this cover, I understand it, Peter Asher's producing, new company, etc but I liked the covers for the WB albums much better. This looks like JT but something seemed off IMO.

 

I've never had a problem with that album cover and I think it looks pretty cool. The guys broken neck really doesn't look that bad but the kid standing on the wolf...huh?

The b-sides for A New Morning is probably my favorite album-that-never-was. Fantastic stuff!
