I was thinking about "Mother" by the Police and that's obviously not their best work, but the rest of Synchronicity is a very good record. Three of the songs ("Every Breath You Take", "Wrapped Around Your Finger", "Synchronicity II") are absolutely great with the rest of the songs IMHO being slightly lesser, but still very good. Do you guys have any other albums that you think have only one flaw?

Kinda agree about Blood On The Tracks. Kinda disagree about Synchronicity. I don't think that album is all that solid and I don't think it's aged all that gracefully.

....on a serious note. CTA ...Freeform Guitar....but why?? Aside from that it was the greatest debut album in history.

1, 2, and 4 are great, but 3 is tedious.

"5150" by Van Halen. The song "Inside" always sounded like filler to me.

The seventh and final track on Dire Straits' "Making Movies" is a stinker: "Les Boys"

With an LP that has great tracks such as Tunnel Of Love, Romeo and Juliet, Skateaway, Expresso Love, and Solid Rock, when listening to this last track, one can ONLY think "what exactly were they thinking?"

    It just doesn't fit in.

Sadly, I even think it tarnishes and taints one's overall assessment of their 3rd LP.
With another solid track replacing it, the LP would receive much more acclaim as a classic album.

I love Dylan's Street Legal, but New Pony is pretty cringe-worthy lyrically.

I tend to agree with above post (Street Legal - New Pony), and on similar note, feel the same about Elvis Costello's 'Trust' album, and the 2nd track "Lovers Walk".

BÖC's Cultösaurus Erectus, the one bad song being The Marshall Plan. Otherwise that album is terrific.

    Ha. I love them all.

Laughing Boy on Abandoned Luncheonette by Hall & Oates is by far the weakest track.

I would argue that there is no such thing as bad music or a bad song but the last time I tried that... :tsk: :hide:

Simon & Garfunkel - Bookends - Voices Of Old People. I actually like the track, but it's inclusion on the album is bonkers.
David Bowie - Let's Dance - Shake It
    Paul McCartney
    - Memory Almost Full - Nod Your Head ( I know, it'll be someone's favourite track, but for me it is unbearably awful)
Beach Boys - Today - Bull Session with the Big Daddy
    Beach Boys -
Summer Days - I'm Bugged At My Ol' Man

I can't think of a better example! What an awful song from an amazing album. There must be a story behind that which explains why it's on there. It is almost as if it came from another band.

I will nominate my favorite band, the Bee Gees. With few exceptions, all their albums from 1973 to 1981 were albums I really enjoyed all the way until the very last song! Barry would always put some ghastly song at the end, with the exception of Main Course, where one of the strongest songs was last. They also did that with artists they produced, except for Dionne Warwick, but they didn't write the last song on her Heartbreaker album.
