I have the original Target CD and it sounds great! It beats the pants off later released CD versions.

Another one that passed me by. Lovely varied album. Dear One is phenomenal.

I think I have the Target one too. I assumed it had never altered and that there weren't 'different' CD versions..

I suppose if they did remaster it there's a good chance they'd muck it up..

Pretty cool, this. Took me a while to like it though.

Paul McCartney "Back To The Egg". I find it erratic and strange; characteristics I adore in music! I've not yet met anyone who really likes this album.

James Taylor "James Taylor" (Apple). I love its avante-garde segues and warm orchestration. I've yet to meet anyone who even remotely likes this album!

I really like 'Back To The Egg'. Tap on any Macca thread here and you'll find it has plenty of fans.:D

It's a record you have to hear a few times, but it's worth getting to know.

The Soft Parade - The Doors
    29 - Ryan Adams
Bound By The Beauty - Jane Siberry

None of these are considered their best AFAIK, but they are all my favorites.

  12. I've never understood the animosity towards this one. It's far more interesting than Duke, which has some of the most asinine songwriting they ever came up with. It's not 'The Lamb' by any means but I've played it a damn sight more than Nursery Crimes or Foxtrot which each contain a couple of glorious things and a lot of tedium. This was, I recall, the first Genesis I heard. I was much more of a soul boy at the time and it took a lot of persuading from my friends to give 'prog' a go. It took a couple of listens but then it clicked. I loved The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, still do, but I think if I'd started with Trespass or Nursery Crimes instead of ..And Then There Were Three my interest in Genesis would have been shortlived.

I love Yes with Trevor Rabin - 90125, Big Generator, and Talk.

I love Yes in general, but those albums are not considered the best by Yes purists. They are easily more commercial, have more "production" tricks, and went for a wider audience. Don't care, love 'em.

Prog rock with Todd Rundgren in the producer's chair... Always thought they (at least Daryl Hall) could get away with this.

Agreed, a woolly masterpiece. For that matter, Combat Rock is also better than its reputation as well.

I love these. The first single from Bigger Bang Rough Justice is classic stones!

And I always thought Don't Tell A Soul was panned just because the guys grew up a bit and drank a little less. Too bad, it was a great album and should have launched them to the next level.
