My favorite is probably The 39 Steps. Even Hitchcock himself considered it one of his favorites.
With very few exceptions, you can watch any of his films from 1934 to about 1960 and enjoy them.
    But don't miss 1972's Frenzy.

    Strangers On A Train
    The Wrong Man
    I Confess

    Dial M For Murder
    The Trouble With Harry
The Man Who Knew Too Much
    Vertigo
    North By Northwest
    Psycho
    The Birds

I will pick up the others when I find them cheaply. The Mill Creek set is excellent and has several of my favorites including Sabotage, 39 Steps, and the Lady Vanishes. The silents are kinda tough for me to get into, but I'm glad to have them.

THE 39 STEPS and FRENZY. Those are the ones I rewatch - I don't care if something is supposed to be a classic, if I don't like it, that's usually it. Hitchcock is great for black humour - I feel he doesn't have a very optimistic view of people, like Kubrick.
