It's probably more of an issue about what might be perceived legally as porn and corporations trying to stay within the legal guidelines. The intent of the photographer, artistic merits of the photography, and history surrounding the photography may have little to do with it.

 

The irony of this is that (many of these) corporations are the most guilty of sexualizing the young. Ads get worse every year, yes they have clothes on, sometimes just barely, and make up, and pouts, and looks etc... sex is used to sell, always has been, but now these same corporations use young kids to sell things sexually...the sexualization of the youth will bring grave consequencies... just one of many strikes this younger generation has...

And these same ads are much more kiddie porn like than the Blind Faith cover ever was/is...

 

great point, in light of the news today about Abercrombie & Fitch hiring employees based on sex appeal & attractiveness, and requiring those employees to show skin....

Can you tell me why my posts questioning why the Blind Faith avatar's removal have been removed from this thread? I can understand the avatar being removed, understand it, but not agree with it... But to have any reference to its removal removed, that seems a little heavy-handed... Also my post stating that YOU were NOT the Gort who did this was removed... It just seems to be getting a little too heavy-handed here, in this thread.

Surely we are mature enough to discuss this topic without getting posts of worth removed because they question authority and Gort actions. Please reply here and/or set me straight...

If someone is selling a Blind Faith CD without showing the cover in the auction, Ebay does not know which cover it has. There are plenty of Blind Faith CDs with the alternative cover (group photo) available on Ebay.

 

and in your item description, you could say 'original banned cover'! that could be a selling point

 

Well, they cancelled another one even though the cover wasn't shown. The back of the MFSL case was shown and just a glimpse of the front, but no portion of the girl at all. If you weren't familiar with the cover you wouldn't even know the girl was there. Unfortunately I don't have a screen shot of this one.
