All right, I have decided on what I will buy for my first lurkings into "old music. :)

Sometime, during April 1st-6th, I will go out and buy the following things:

    The Beatles-Anthology DVD set
    The Beatles-Sgt. Pepper
Pink Floyd-Dark Side of The Moon

I've decided to get the Anthology DVD set because I think it would be appropriate to understand what The Beatles legacy was all about. Then there's Sgt. Pepper. And since it's all in the same week, I'll probably pick up the new reissue of Dark Side!

Or maybe I should just pre-order all this? :D

But seriously, I can't wait! I'm not addictied to that Rolling Stone guide, but it's fairly helpful right now...

    Thanks for all the comments!

    :(

Reading all these descriptions of "multichannel" music is making me jealous. Though I haven't heard Dark Side of The Moon before, it sounds like an album that should only be heard in "multichannel". I have a little crappy stereo, though I can tell when something is something wrong. No SACD player yet...

I don't even have a Home Theater! Oh dear, I've got to get with the times... :)

I will go to Wal-Mart and try to find the Dark Side remaster, however.

EDIT: hey! I'm now a junior member! Cool

    Welcome to the forum!

Hey, little crappy stereo or no, I think I'd splurge just a little (say, $80) and buy a nice pair of headphones - quickest and least expensive way to audio nirvana I know of!

    Hello Chiron and welcome.

You can do better to make the cornerstone of a collection. Instead of the RS guide just ask 'round here.
