I'm not a huge fan of the Corabi era BUT I think it showed through all the pyro, women, lighting each other on fire, spinning drum coaster, and all that **** it showed that Motley Crue was a really talented band. The self titled is their best written record and they just beat the **** out it musically. That album showed Tommy was a hell of a drummer. I love that it was just a basic album where they let the music do the talking. I still prefer Vince because frankly the music they did with Vince I can listen to naytime while the Corabi stuff I have to be in a certain mood, BUT I think the Corabi era showed Motley was a really talented band
MÖTLEY CRUE Drummer TOMMY LEE Allegedly Assaulted By 21-Year-Old Son Tommy got beat up by his son. That's sad.
From someone who grew up with parents fighting and then divorcing, it's NEVER fun to hear your dad say things about your mom or your mom say things about your dad. Pam and Tommy both need to remember they have 2 kids together and frankly , talking trash about each other is not good! Especially on tv or social media!
Tommy made some stupid comment in The Dirt about his Dad being so much older than him and how he (Tommy) wanted to be friends with his kids and have the same interests. Yeah, good luck with that. Actually, that's probably what has happened except being 21 now Brandon has outgrown Tommy's 15 year old's mentality. I don't blame Pamela for Tommy being an overgrown child but something just snapped in Tommy in that era. This pathological need to cultivate any and all attention and then being enraged about the loss of privacy. And that's a pretty minor fat lip for all this trouble. If that knocked him out I'm surprised Vince didn't kill him.
I agree something about Tommy snapped when he got with Pam He became a huge ******* once he got with Pam and that's all he's ever been since then. He's nothing like the ol Tommy If you look at him from the 80's to mid 90s he always had this goofy , fun loving personality now he's just always in a bad mood and a *******
I just listened to Theatre Of Pain in full and that album brings back some cool memories of my youth. I don’t get how people bag on that album. Yes it’s a step down from the first 2 but I still don’t think it’s weak. Maybe one or 2 songs are below standards but that’s it really for me. Imo Girls is where they started to falter but still a good album. Feelgood hasn’t aged that well with me though. What the hell happened to Nikki’s lyric writing on that one? I tend to listen to the first 3 and the Corabi album and I’m actually pretty good with the Crue. They did a few good songs here and there after but the Corabi album is their last great album to me IMO.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Pam absolutely crushed his spirit and scrambled his brain. Agree completely.
Sorry guys I don't completely agree. Pamela was and will be a pain in his ass but she helped give him kids which he says was one of the reasons he didn't stay together with Heather Locklear. I think Pam helped him potentially realize that Motley could be more experimental. aka Generation Swine which I know is an album that divides people but I think it was a creative period for Motley... However on this whole Tommy Brandon and Pam thing...I find it sad and it kind of sucks that social media is so pathetic on all the parties part to make something like this public. Unfortunately I also think Tommy has been going through a midlife crisis over the past few weeks. However I truly don't know any of the characters personally I hope they can all heal someday. BTW my parents divorced so I have some empathy for the situation.
Decade of decadence is my favorite Crue era. They were about to put a stamp on how great they were and then screwed it up kicking out Vince. It sucks always wondering what they were about to put out. With how well lyrically and cmusically the Corabi album was man , they do that with Vince and they stay on top
On the upside it looks like The Dirt is being made as there have been pics of the actors ...rehearsing? costume fitting? I wonder how their treatment of woman will be featured in the movie with the changed environment in Hollywood. a lot of the content re : that area in the book is...errr... Either way looking forward to the movie.
Right here. To me. They sounded their best and looked their best. And I love the sound of Tommy's kick drum
It looks like I'm probably going to be wrong, but I still can't believe The Dirt movie is going to be made. I guess I always saw it as a 'movie' so therefore that means movie theater release, but obviously there's a lot more platforms for something like this to get seen than there was 10 or 15 years ago when they started talking about it. And @bartels76 makes a good point about the climate of Hollywood today and how that will affect getting any more than the smallest of niche audiences. Because this movie won't be focusing on the music. Which is sad too. I'd rather have a book released where all four (five) guys talk through the catalogue song by song. Another rehash about cocaine and whores doesn't really float my boat anymore.
I hope they achieve some balance in that regard. If their isn't an honest attempt to show what a trend setting band they became, it would be a travesty. People like to pretend that GNR were the only band with influential music to come out of L.A. in the '80's and that is just factually inaccurate.
Right when the book came out there was film interest. 17 years ago at this point! Crazy! Looks like Netflix has the rights now and it is a go. This article gives us the timeline on the movie. Netflix has been doing some fantastic stuff so I think it's in good hands. Netlflix Lands Motley Crue Biopic ‘The Dirt’
I am actually more hopeful of it being done the right way. I think Netflix lets there content creators have a lot of freedom. Hollywood "focus-groups" everything to death!
