Hi Mishka, I ow the 205 MKII and contacted them directly, but after several times of chasing them, they finally responded. So, keep trying. Reply included (see below).

    "Dear Mr.Stoffels,
Sorry for not replying your email. I must missed your email since I changed my old computer with Microsoft XP.
Power transformer of the A205A Mk2 will get hot and you don't need to worry about. You mentioned " warm", so I assume that is not so hot.

    Best regards,

    Hi Tesbert
Thank you for info, now I have some hope :)

Although, to be honest, it is very disappointing.
Such great amplifiers and maybe WORST support I've ever seen!

I emailed them several years ago about something, I think I asked what year mine was made, I got the amp from a reviewer here in the US. They replied and asked me the serial number then they replied again all within the week and sent me a pdf of the users manual. But I no longer have the email. So, my answer is yes they replied to me. I do find Asian manufactures are tough to get replies from. Maybe the language thing.

    Thanks for info, inperson!
Maybe situation was better several years ago :)
As I read somewhere, usually son of Almarro's creator replies to mails. And he is living in US as I understand, so there should not be language barrier.

That is what happened to mine.
Other than that I have had no problems.
I have owned a lot of amps of every type and the 318B is as good as anything I have used.
So worth fixing even if it costs you .They are a bargain anyway.

Tried them with JBL Studio 590s?A match made in heaven.
I have had far more expensive speakers but that combination is really special.

I use A318B with Triangle speakers and very like it.
96db of JBL looks more interesting than 91db of Triangles, but I never tried it.

    Overall, I very like A318B.
It is not very user-friendly, especially comparing to modern solid-state amplifiers, but has very "tasty" sound for my ears.

I only had couple of more-less theoretical questions which maybe I will ask here, but firstly tried to ask Almarro support.

    What problem with A version?

The JBLs are only 92db sensitivity.
An easy load for the Almarro.

Having a variable negative feedback switch fitted is a worthwhile modification.A bit less feedback than the factory fixed position often sounds better.

From what I read the B has better bass control.
