Watched the 2nd episode last night. I've been a fan since season one. While some seasons were better than others, I don't recall ever being as bored as I was last night. I'll give it another shot next week but if I feel the same way I'm out!

Have the actresses that play the murdering nurses appeared in AHS before? I don't recognize them, but so many people carry over from season to season, even for small roles, so I'm just wondering if I should already know why they are.

I don't think they have been on previous seasons.

But I did notice, in front of the house, the colonials (with Kathy Bates) were burning an alleged thief with a pig head...the cop from last season. And, I think, a nearly unrecognizable Lady Gaga.

On one hand, the episode was predictable. But on the other, I jumped more than a time or two. It was scary. A cheap "gotcha" scare, but still a scare.

I actually am enjoying the more focused less busy with all kinds of craziness aspect of the season.

3rd episode same as the 1st 2. There isn't a single character I care about, not even an interesting bad guy. They brought back Ga Ga, yawn. Incredible that with such an amazingly talented cast, the story is such a snoozefest. The show's reached Fear The Walking Dead's unwatchability. Too bad.

Interestingly I feel the opposite, I really like this season, and though I don't care about the characters much I do like the unfolding story and the humor that is beginning to emerge. I didn't watch last season but I'm in for this one.

Still waiting to see Evan Peters, he usually steals the show.

From what I've read there is supposed to be a huge change in the show at episode 6.

Pretty sure that was him playing Kathy Bates bearded son in this last episode.

I read something about Jessica Lange maybe popping in a while back. Probably just wishful thinking on my part!;)

My guess is Evan will come in around that drastic change in the story (episode 6)

    You're right!

    Maybe he's pig boy.

I predict that the Swine demon (gaga) will end up carrying the husband's baby after raping(?) him in the woods

I predict we are all way off. There's supposed to be a huge story shift coming up in a few weeks.

Why do you need to tell us that? Ignored for the rest of the season. Let the story unfold as they intend.

I am liking the level of focus so far this season and look forward to more of the story.

I skipped last season (5), but I have been enjoying this season so far.
I'll probably view season 5 when it hits Netflix in a few weeks.

I agree. Ordinarily, this show throws everything at you all at once. As s result this show is usually a mess. Not this year. They almost seem to be telling a cohesive single story...very un-American Horror Story of them.

Well episode 4 was interesting, and not necessarily in a good way.
    Kathy Bates' accent is hilarious.

Yeah, definitely an interesting episode. That hour flew by.

And then Dolores Kearns Goodwin in Episode 5! Talk about unexpected.

That was kind of cool! Nice to see Evan Peters and Frances Conroy as the freaky Mama show up too.

Evan Peters' character Edward Mott is an ancestor of Dandy Mott from AHS: Freak Show. I think there was mention in last night's episode that the Roanoke House was owned by the Mott family until the final Mott died in Florida. Which would tie in with his story in Freak Show as well.
