Here's a brief obituary and a tribute: http://fridaynightboys300.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/anita-ekberg-rip.html
Well, my telephone rang it would not stop It’s President Kennedy callin’ me up He said, “My friend, Bob, what do we need to make the country grow?” I said, “My friend, John, Brigitte Bardot Anita Ekberg Sophia Loren” The country indeed grew... She shall be free, RIP
Imagine waking up next to that figure every morning.... la dolce vita, indeed!! Her 2 husbands were lucky men.
I read somewhere that Anita wore next to nothing in that fountain scene, the water was freezing cold and she loved it. Mastrianno had a wet suit underneath and complained the entire time about the ice cold water.
Her role in La Dolce Vita is iconic, and obviously her most well-known... but I've seen a few of her other Italian movies as well.... a couple of giallo films (French Sex Murders, The Killer Nun) and a couple of obscure comedies (Fatty Girl Goes to New York, Boccaccio '70).... she always looked great.
RIP Anita. At least she had an iconic moment in an iconic film that will almost certainly last as long as film does.
Watching another one of her obscure flicks right now... Amando de Ossorio's Fangs of the Living Dead.
