"vinyl is just a throwback to simpler times"

"it's more like collecting Pokémon cards"

    "lured by the medium's novelty"

"While nostalgia and novelty may account for the increased profile of vinyl in recent years"

This is the same old story; I remember when someone asked an Epic Records guy why Pearl Jam put out their albums on vinyl, he said something about "People like something that's 'retro'.

This proves my long held belief: If you want to know how little record executives know about music, just ask a record company exec. about music.

At least this writer did talk to some people that listen to music and or vinyl, that is impressive indeed. Yes, we do exist!

"The LP may have been declared dead a decade ago"

I for one, never declared it dead! I remember a couple years ago, Michael Fremer couldn't believe how the record industry complained how each format declines in sales every year. What the RIAA chose to ignore and NOT report was the fact that vinyl LPs have INCREASED in sales over the past few years!
