Sadly the US original is hard to come buy in a decent sleeve condition for some reason - so what's the alternative with good sound if there is one?

The Sony/Legacy reissues are great. They were originally Record Store Day releases but they're in general release now. Do a search. They're pretty well thought of.

I just got one from a friend yesterday, it has a mint outer sleeve, and is VG when it comes to the record itself. However, the inner sleeve is not the picture of the band, but instead a MCA sleeve. could it just be a replacement sleeve?

Every copy of the record I've seen had the band inner sleeve, so I'm pretty sure you've got a replacement.

I came across a US Pressing of Rocks, with nice textured jacket, and Sterling stamp on dead wax. 90% sure on Sterling, and if I'm wrong,
maybe Masterdisk. Unfortunately condition was not up to my standard, so I passed. Has anyone heard this pressing, or if not, please
suggest an alternative pressing... On TOYS, my TML (mastering Lab) sounds quite good. I would be thrilled to get ROCKS, or for that matter, WINGS,
that sounds as good as my TML Toys....

"Rocks" in quotation marks on the cover, textured sleeve and Sterling stamped deadwax and you'll be happy.
These should be easy to find. This past year, I found a 1-A/1-A for $5. Clean and smokin'...and crankin' it right now! :righton:

The recent reissues are also very good.
