Not sure I'd call Seefeel ambient, but I do love Quique, and it does have some ambient elements mixed with the glitch and big beat, and shoegaze, and all the rest, very unique sound, especially for the time. I like the one after a lot too, Succour, but it's a different sound. With the renewed interest in Quique, you probably know that they did get back together about 10 years ago, though with new bassist and drummer, and put out the pretty nice self-titled record in 2011 that recalls some of the greatness of Quique. Just spun it recently, along with the great Bowery Electric Beat record that we may have talked about in previous Seefeel threads. Love that sound.
Yeah, you do. But payment is (pretty much) always through PayPal, so all standard protections apply. Discogs is great because you can add releases to a "wishlist", and then you can shop based entirely on what's available on your wishlist. Did I say great? I meant expensive...
Soul jazz records put out this compilation recently. Space, energy & light: experimental electronic & acoustic soundscapes 1961-88. Listening to it now. I'd recommend it. Retro style space age scfi vibes &.the 70s synth side of krautrock. Its a nice swirling listening experience. https://soundsoftheuniverse.com/sjr/product/experimental-electronic-and-acoustic-soundscapes-1961-88
I'm not great with musical categories but some that MIGHT fit that bill that i love are; 1) Michael Neil - Cornubia (divine!) 2) Steve Hillage - Rainbow Dome Musick 3) Ashra - New age of Earth 4) Tangerine Dream - Tangram
I’ve got a few suggestions (in no particular order): Harold Budd - Avalon Sutra Harold Budd - White Arcades Brian Eno/Harold Budd - Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror Robert Fripp/Brian Eno - Evening Star Jean-Michel Jarre: Oxygène Jean-Michel Jarre: Équinoxe Ashra: New Age of Earth Robert Fripp: Love Cannot Bear And boy could this go on and on...
A bit of a genre crossover but I think Ryan Farish qualifies, I have his albums "Beautiful" and "From the Sky" both highly recommended. "Pacific Winds"
I LIKE this! The first two tracks remind me of moody Jarre. The last is smooth space, typical but nice.
I 've discovered this album today, by Andreas Vollenweider, from 1982/83. I'm not much of a fan of ambient music normally, but I found this pretty good and well put on record. I like those jazzy harp riffs... But it remains basically New Age... I think...

Love me some Vollenweider. If you enjoy this, buy everything from his first album proper, "Behind the Gardens" to and including "Book of Roses". White Winds is my favorite. After that he added vocals, and I was dialed out. All of these titles were recently reissued, with bonus tracks - AVOID THEM (sadly). Grab the original releases, which go cheaply (on CD anyway), they all sound great.
Haunted for the last couple years in my case, since discovering their last record, the amazing Beauty Will Save The World ... The Revolutionary Army of the Infant Jesus - Beauty Will Save the World (2015) The one in my signature from Michal Jacaszek this year is also quite haunting, KWIATY... if you don't know it yet, you may really like it too ... Brainwashed - Jacaszek, "KWIATY" I love absolutely everything about KWIATY, as Jacaszek displays an unerring gift for mood, dynamics, melody, texture, nuance, depth, and mystery. This album is a sublime masterpiece, revealing just enough soul and exquisite melody at the surface to instantly lure me in, but elegantly obscuring an ocean of unknown depth beneath.
