This is right in my wheelhouse - I'm on a huge 'space sounds' tip at the moment after that Brother Saturn album someone brought up earlier. It also sits well with Mrs. Pretzel who is a huge sci-fi nerd and fan of space. She loves all that.

That would be moi, and that would be this album: Brother Saturn - Apollo, Can You Hear Me? -- "Name Yer Price" lossless download on Bandcamp. --Geoff
There's an artist called SunDummy whose music is legally available for free on The Internet Archive. I like it a lot. Might want to check it out. Internet Archive Search: creator:"SunDummy" Actually, there's a ton of free ambient stuff over there. Just jump around.
There's a ton of "free" ambient stuff on Bandcamp as well, which is where I do most of my poking around these days ("free" as in "Name Your Price" so you can download for nuthin' if you just want to check it out although it is better to chip in a few bucks if you can if you find that you enjoy the music). For example, one I am playing right now: Altus - The Sidereal Cycle -- a compilation of 4 albums, each containing a 50+ min plus soundscape. "Name Yer Price" lossless download. This is on the Free Floating Music netlabel which is "devoted to spreading beautiful ambient music for free legal download". You can check out the entire discography here. --Geoff
