Gotta disagree with ya friend, Yea,Sheldon(Jim Parsons) is the star but I think they've got a pretty solid supporting cast. Just my 2cents.:tiphat:

It's a fun show, always has been. But I think it's run its course. Just for the money now.

I don't feel it's run its course, but my eyebrow was raised when I read they renewed it for three more years. If they are doing more than running on fumes in season 10 I'll be surprised. But it's such a humongous hit there's no way CBS will let it go before they absolutely have to.

Yeah my wife and daughter both gave up on it at the beginning of this season. Both say it was much better when it was just the guys and the humor was geek humor.

    I agree also.
When the intial concept is changed, so goes the show.

I think there's still enough of a rabid fanbase for the show that they'll follow it wherever it airs. And, really, wouldn't that fanbase/demographic mostly be TiVo-ing/time-shifting or otherwise streaming it anyway?

I think 5, maybe 6 years should be the max on any show because by then all ideas have pretty much been exhausted and the wheels are just spinning 'round. Much as I love this show, I've a feeling another 3 years is way too much. Well, unless Raj comes out as gay.:D

Pretty much. The rest is typical predictable sitcom crap.

    ^ I disagree.

Love the four main (scientist) characters.
Whenever love interests are introduced, the show changes.

I finally started watching Big Bang Theory on DVD for the first time. Really liking the first three seasons and can't believe I didn't get into it sooner. Too busy watching Battlestar Galactica, Breaking Bad, Dexter etc.

It's a funny show, I don't watch many sitcoms but this is one of them I do enjoy. I think this past season had the best ratings yet so it appears the general public hasn't lost interest.

I love (or loved) the show and thought the geek jokes were funny and original but from season 4 with the new female regulars the show loss its originality and now relies more and more on sex jokes.

  21. I was a massive fan of this show and certainly wouldn't turn off a rerun, but I would never have predicted this would become the new Friends or How I Met Your Mother in terms of success and staying power. While the cast should be entitled to what they feel is adequate pay for being so popular, my fear now is that The Big Bang Theory may be on the verge of implosion as a result of studio pressure to instead cut their losses and search for the next bigger thing... I'd like to believe this proverbial dog hasn't yet had its day, but Sheldon embarking on his soul searching train journey was a far less obvious conclusion than the predictable "Shamy" baby or Raj accepting his sexuality (which I suspect will eventually happen). Due to their greater variety and lack of such clichés we've all seen countless times before in other sitcoms, I'll always love the earlier seasons - for me, freshness always has the upper hand over familiarity, and I really thought increasingly using sex jokes as a crutch was above its writers!

It's getting old . I loved from the begining but now it's become famliar
retread like Friends. I want to have baby Amy would say ,
then she says it's twins Sheldon. How can this be Sheldon, says...
We did not have intercourse ? I took a sample that one time you were drunk
    on long island ice teas.
Or Penny finds out she and Leonard are 5th cousins.
I don't think any tv comedy should should last more 6 seasons.
Friends got stupid after awhile. Frasier really got desperate and dumb.

I could never stomach Friends despite appealing female cast, because the male cast was so dumb.

One of my favorite sitcoms is Frasier and I would have to agree about it getting stale, but only after Niles and Daphne started living together and the whole Gertrude thing.

Oh, and I'm still enjoying The Big Bang Theory.
