Any fans of The Big Bang Theory on CBS?

Another reason I quit.

Yeah, when it's weddings and babies a show is on the precipice of the point of no return.

 

At least friends They had courage and knew it was not good as was years
before. And they ended in 10 season it should of ended in 9th season..
It will get bad on big bang.. sadly..

 

They ended Friends when it was no longer sufficiently profitable to continue, not because of some sense of self-sacrifice.

 

I'm not sure that's correct. I recall reading the NBC wanted to do another series (11th) but the actors didn't. IIRC they didn't want to go past s09 but agreed to do one last season.

 

Yeah most likely. I wonder if it'll be Sheldon/Amy or Penny/Leonard or both. They seem to be keeping the Bernadette/Howard kid out of the story lines for the most part though. So maybe there is some hope

 

I'll defer to your recollections - I never liked or watched that show, so didn't keep up with the gossip. However, I was responding to a comment which claimed that somehow the Friends showrunners knew when to call it quits (on the basis of 'quality') unlike TBBT people, so if what you say is true, that would still nullify the premise of the comment I was responding to.

 

The show simply isn't funny - at least not any more. The only reason for its continued success, that I can think of, is that the characters are so familiar to the viewers that the audience seems comfortable with them, despite the show's obvious failings, and will tune in regardless. The fact that the show is continuously in re-runs, ad nauseum, on a wide variety of channels has contributed to this effect.

 

So. Was Thursday the season finale? What do we think of it?

It was ok for this season.

 

I found it funny that in the following days they referred to the finale as a 'shocker'. And it was. Not that Sheldon proposed to Amy, but that the episode was actually funny.

It is now like every episode of Friends: Turrible.

 

I started watching The Big Bang Theory and ended up watching Friends (of which there are zero episodes that I like.) I cannot believe how much Chuck Lorre has foobared this show. Or rather how Chuck does with all of his shows in their latter years, CTD. I lost interest years ago; however, have periodically tuned in.

It's like the Seinfeld conundrum of a bad movie: do you stay until the end or walk out?

The Big Bang Theory should end already. It's had a long run believe it or not and the show has been on the air for enough years. My parents have seen the show a few times and even they think it's unfunny.

 

I'm watching an episode with Sara Rue in at the moment. It's the one where Howard gets the Mars rover thing stuck. She turns up in quite a lot of things. I liked her in Will & Grace.

 

All the main characters are likeable IMO.

 

The new season approaches. What will be Amy's answer?

 

They should of ended after 10 yrs it's getting old...

 

I just hope we get Penny in a tight outfit and/or bikini every few episodes.

 

Agreed. This show Jumped The Shark years ago and has been Circling The Drain the last couple of years.

If I have to watch this crap show, it's the least they could do.

 

I tried to get into it. Just don't get the big deal. Others certainly enjoy it so good for them.

 

It's like Friends for me. I never understood the attraction of that show.

 

Same here. I thought it sucked but it was very popular.
