I remember investigating Gomez before and found a greatest hits 2CD set that I liked. It was expensive at the time so I held off. I can't remember the name of the set and couldn't find anything at Allmusic, can anyone help?

Been a massive fan since BIO won the mercury prize. Own their discography on vinyl (including the 12”singles). Can’t wait to see them on the US tour. Saw them do their BiO 10th anniversary tour. Great band.

Five Men In A Hut, a good compilation with a healthy mix of album tracks and b-sides, along with a couple of unreleased tracks.

Going to both Chicago shows, can’t wait! Gomez is one of my all time faves, seen them a ton, and they always bring it. Hope they do something new after this, though, I have a ticket stub when they did this Bring It On celebration for its tenth anniversary. I’ll be there in 2028, though, I suppose. :)

Indeed, great line-up. I'll be busy getting tickets for my wife this week (multi-stage festivals annoy me, so I skip them, but the missus will go for sure):

Thanks for suggesting How We Operate! I listened to the 5 Album Set (that doesn't include How We Operate, and was not that impressed) then listened to How We Operate and Bingo! Viola!! That hit the spot. Found a used CD at Newbury for $3 and it's mastered by Robert Ludwig.

Got the latest vinyl remaster of Bring It On today. And it sounds good, after a spin clean. The sleeve looks good, but there's cardbord inners, so get 'm out and stuff 'm into something else ;)
Records are cut/'remastered' by Frank Arkwright at abbey road, records are pressed at MPO.

Bring It On box arrived Friday. Nice presentation of a great album. Only had chance to play the new remaster in the car but it’s a B&O system and the disc sounds really nice. Had to turn it up more than usual which is a good sign!

Lots more to explore over the coming few days. If you are new to Gomez Amazon have single disk remaster at £5.99. Invest in it, you won’t be sorry.

off to see these perform the album at the Royal Albert Hall London on Thursday night, heard good reports from gigs earlier this week so should be a blast

I have the 2013 Vinyl pressing of this that sounds fabulous so unlikely to spend more on this release

Saw them live in '11 having never heard them before. I was in Cairns, Oz which is a town in the middle of nowhere, so if somebody half decent turns up you tend to go along. After the gig I still didn't know what they sounded like as I was bladdered before they even came on. They came back the following year, I think, and being less caned I remember they were excellent. Prefer their live stuff to the LP's. Picked up 'Whatever's On Your Mind' at the time, but I've not played it for a while.

Yeah cool band although a certain singers voice can put me off a little.

Just had a look and I have
    Bring it on
    In our gun
    Liquid skin
    Split the difference.

If I recall, their albums are really well recorded.

  15. It seems like once every few years I remember how awesome this band was and how much they meant to me. Got to see them once in Brixton in 02 or 03. Hadn’t heard anything after the 4th album. Liquid Skin remains the high point for me: Quite possibly that single moment in Rhythm and Blues Alibi where Ben gets his first vocal in the song, with a contrast so beautiful and powerful it’d knock a buzzard from a dung wagon.

    Great band.

Bring it On, Liquid Skin, Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline and In Our Gun was a superb run of albums too.

Saw them on the Anniversary tour a few weeks back and they blew me away, Ben's voice still sounds phenomenal.

I don't have an audiophile system, but this vinyl reissue sounds AMAZING on my lower-end system. Lots of full, detailed lower end. I haven't listened to this album in eons but this release is like listening to it for the first time all over again. Highly recommend if you're on the fence.

Just picked up the reissue. Only opened it so far to resleeve the vinyl, which looks pretty well pressed by MPO. Will have a listen over the weekend.
