The only one I have info on is the title track, With A Little Help From My Friends, Fixing A Hole, She's Leaving Home, and Lovely Rita. But it's not all complete. Some info on the generations are missing.

This is only what I know:

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

    1st Generation:
    1 - Drums, John and George's Guitars
    2 - Bass
    3 - Double-tracked Harmony Vox
    4 - Lead & Harmony Vox

    2nd Generation:
    1 - Tracks 1 & 2 of 1st Gen
    2 - Crowd Noise
    3 - Horns & Lead Guitar
    4 - Tracks 3 & 4 of 1st Gen - All Vox

With A Little Help From My Friends

    ?th Generation:
    1 - Drums, Piano, Guitar(?)
2 - Bass, Guitar (found in the beginning)
    3 - Lead Vox
    4 - Organ, Harmony Vox

    Fixing A Hole

    1st Generation:
    1 - Drums, Maracas, Paul's Harpsichord
    2 - Bass
    3 - Double-tracked Lead Vox
    4 - Lead Vox

    2nd Generation:
    1 - Tracks 1 & 2 of 1st Gen
    2 - George's Guitar
    3 - Double-tracked George's Guitar
    4 - Tracks 3 & 4 of 1st Gen

    3rd Generation:
    1 - Track 1 of 2nd Gen
2 - Second Drums, Second Bass, George Martin's Harpsichord
    3 - Tracks 2 & 3 of 2nd Gen
    4 - Track 4 of 2nd Gen

    She's Leaving Home

    ?th Generation:
    1 - Strings 1
    2 - Strings 2
    3 - VOX 1
    4 - VOX 2

(Was the string section recorded first then bounced down to two tracks?)

    Lovely Rita

    1st Generation:
    1 - Drums
    2 - Guitar 1
    3 - Guitar 2
    4 - Piano

    Sgt. Pepper Reprise

    1st Generation:
    1 - Drums, George's Guitar, John's Guitar, Paul's Organ
    2 - Bass
    3 - Tambourine, Maracas, Paul's Scat Vocals
    4 - Lead Vox

Well, that is all I know of. Anyone else have more info on this?

All this info has been discussed in elaborate detail ad finitum in the other numerous Sgt Pepper anniversary threads. May I suggest you look and maybe repost your question there rather than start yet another Sgt Pepper thread. Most appreciated.

WALHFMF originally had the drums, rhythm guitar and piano on separate tracks. There's also a cowbell on the drum track. SLH had all 4 tracks taken up by the strings and harp which were then combined into 2 tracks. Lovely Rita had all 4 backing tracks combined into 1 to make room for overdubs. I think the Reprise is formatted like this, but I could be wrong:

    1st generation
    1 - drums, George's guitar, John's guitar, Paul's organ
    2 - bass
    3 - tambourine, maracas, Paul's scat vocals
    4 - lead vocals

There are several errors in the 50th anniversary deluxe book regarding the track personnel.
For example track 1 (1st gen) of the title track features drums, George and PAUL on guitar, not John.

Fixing A Hole, 3rd generation track 2 most probably features the same line up as the 1st gen basic track, Paul on harpsichord, John on bass.

There is also a tambourine on the drums track. Not to be confused with the main more prominent tambourine overdubbed later with bass on the same track.
According to Mal Evans, Mal played the cowbell and John was on the tambourine.

I know. But it is pretty quiet compared to the overdubbed tambourine.

Sure. For that song the crowd noise was added live during mixing, which explains why it's so different on each mix.

The 1st generation 4 track of Getting Better was like this:

    1 - Drums
    2 - George's guitar
    3 - Paul's guitar
    4 - GM's Hohner Pianet

All 4 of these were combined into 1 for overdubs, but after that it gets harder to determine.

*BUMP* I love these technical posts.

Contrary to what was said earlier I'm here everyday and I don't recall any threads detailing the exact contents of the 4-tracks.

I also concur the FX for the "Sgt. Pepper's... Reprise" were flown in live during mixing. Years ago I synchronized both the mono and stereo mixes and realized there was NO common FX sounds meaning they are not part of the 4-track. The single track of vocals were ADT'd across the stereo to sound double-tracked.

I had no idea "Fixing A Hole" had so many layers of instruments (and therefore multiple mix-downs) until I heard the 2017 remix.

The vocal on "Lovely Rita' was ADT'd during the take mix-down I think. The outtake has the naked single-track vocal before treatment.

Getting Better has the most mixdown/bouncing . As a result it's also the most cluttered sounding track on the original mix.

Yes, it was recorded to all 4 tracks and then bounced down to two.
