I know. Hence the smiley face at the end of my post. As 10 -year-olds we found the notion positively unfathomable.

RIP Jim Myers. I will miss the Animal.
Sad to hear about Nicole Bass. I think her lifestyle killed her.

    Goldberg in a 30-second, 2-move squash.

    He's my "super hero".

Please make this guy go away asap.

Here's the only reason I enjoyed the main event... I was watching it with my son and right before it started he told me about Owens' last appearance on the Stone Cold podcast and they were both big fans of 'taking a powder' (rolling out of the ring to piss off your opponent)... for some reason it just caught me the right way and made me laugh... then when the match 'started' (not really started, before the bell) there goes Owens 'taking a powder' and we both kept laughing and laughing harder the more he did it... still hated that Owens had to be squashed, but we knew it was coming and at least for me, the laughs helped me feel better about it.

So the big WM main event is a guy who can't go more than 2 minutes vs the guy who hardly shows up. At least it won't be a drawn out stinker like last years main event (HHH vs Reigns).
Here we go... spear, jack hammer, kick out, 3 germans, F5 then we call it a night... bye-bye title for a few months because that 30 day title defense rule only applies to full timers (Naomi, Balor, Rollins, Bryan) and not Lesnar.

Oh... and I'm really looking forward to seeing Rusev embarrassed again at WM when Angle puts him in the ankle-lock

Can you imagine the negotiation that occurred six months ago? "C'mon Bill, Three matches, maybe 10 minutes total, tops, plus about 5 minutes in the Rumble ... and for that you get a title run and (fill in obscene amount of money). No one will touch you, you won't even have to take a single bump other than being gently tossed over the top rope." Valets take rougher bumps than our universal champ. Talk about a no talent getting shoved down the fans' throats, and yet the "universe" loves this guy and hates Roman Reigns, who actually wrestles matches and actually takes bumps. Did I mention I want this guy to go away? :)

IMO, WWE has had a pretty good run of entertaining PPVs (Goldberg's involvement excluded). Last night I thought was kind of flat, in part because it seemed much more like a typical RAW crowd ("Entertain me") than the smarks they usually get for PPVs. The spontaneous Jinder-Rusev thing and those two related matches felt like filler (which you need when your main even last 30 seconds). I thought the cruiserweight title match was the highlight of the card.

I just hope that when he gets inducted that all the fat, out of shape, Florida flabbies keep the noise down while their women get a look at a real man.

I remember seeing him in the 80's in Knoxville, TN with Heenan. Was awesome! "Cut the music.... What I'd like to have right now... Is for all of you Kuh-noxville Knuckleheads to keep it down...." Classic Rude!

So with all of the big happenings that have occurred over the course of this weekend, IMO the biggest bombshell was dropped tonight (and it appeared to be inadvertent and off script)...

During a heated exchange on Talking Smack...
Miz: You can't wrestle because of your head
Bryan: We'll see about that in a year and a half

So when his contract is up Daniel Bryan (or I guess Bryan Danielson) is wrestling again... gonna be fun speculating on where he's going.

Sadly I just remember him as the guy who was briefly in the WWF and was on tapes I had to rent back in 1989 when I started watching. I missed a lot of people's runs so it was interesting renting WWF Coliseum Video tapes in 89 and get exposed to everything prior. There was a huge talent shift from 88 to 89. I also loved the Coliseum Video intros.

So conflicted over the thought of Bryan wrestling again... on one hand I'd love to see him back in the ring, but on the other hand... what if the WWE proactively benched Chris Benoit based on concussion concerns before tragedy struck.

Interesting, did not know about this.

In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer said that Daniel Bryan is considering a new, safer in-ring style, adding to the speculation that he’ll return to the ring when his WWE contract expires in a year and a half. During Tuesday’s episode of Talking Smack, Miz made fun of Bryan for not wrestling due to “his head.” Bryan then replied: “We’ll see in a year and a half, we’ll see what happens.”

He was forced to retire in February 2016 after several concussions a lesion on his brain. Meltzer claimed that Bryan “was rushed” into the retirement speech by Vince McMahon. WWE will probably not clear Bryan to wrestle by next year. When he spoke to Jonathan Coachman on ESPN SportsCenter in September, he said he was cleared by several concussion specialists, but flagged on one test. He added that the more he’s learned about the test, the more he thinks it shouldn’t have forced his retirement. He said at the time that he feels 100% and that he can wrestle.

Meltzer said that one of Bryan’s goals has been to work in CMLL, with an angle leading to a hair vs. hair match at their anniversary show. He added that Bryan’s new in-ring style would be lower risk but allow him to have interesting matches.

    He hasn’t wrestled since April 14, 2015.

It's definitely his life and his health (so his choice), but I'm sure little baby Danielson could use a father who knows his own name and lives to a ripe old age.

I was listening to the Busted Open radio show on SiriusXM yesterday and co-host Larry Dallas bought up a point that I didn't consider... DB doesn't have a history of substance/steroid use... something that may have complicated the Benoit situation that I referenced earlier.
