I just made an Underworld one called 'Triple Slippy' - mainly a "just for convenience, everything in one place" collection. All the main officially released versions of "Born Slippy." Admittedly, I didn't have to do much with the tracklist (disc 1 is the 'Evolution of NUXX' disc of the Super Deluxe 'Second Toughest', disc 3 is the 2003 single), but it was nice to scoop everything up and make a neat little cover for it. DISC 1 01) NUXX (from A1796) 02) NUXX (from A2221 - live in Leicester) 03) NUXX (from A4712 - live in Brighton) 04) NUXX (from A4733 - live Amsterdam) 05) NUXX (from A2254 - live Tokyo) 06) NUXX (from A1825) 07) Born Slippy .NUXX DISC 2 01) Born Slippy .NUXX (Short) 02) Born Slippy .NUXX (Deep Pan) 03) Born Slippy .NUXX (Darren Price Mix) 04) Born Slippy .NUXX (Darren Price Remix) 05) Born Slippy .NUXX (Short II) --Bonus-- 06) Born Slippy 07) Born Slippy .TELEMATIC DISC 3 01) Born Slippy .NUXX (2003 Edit) 02) Born Slippy .NUXX (London Elektricity Mix) 03) Born Slippy .NUXX (Atomic Hooligan Mix) 04) Born Slippy .NUXX (Down Version) 05) Born Slippy .NUXX (Paul Oakenfold Mix) 06) Born Slippy .NUXX (2003 12" Edit) If I could ever find the material, I'd consider another disc of unreleased, professional mixes - Paul Van Dyk's remix, Fatboy Slim's remix, the alleged Jimmy Cauty mix using Pink Floyd samples, etcetera.
After the George Harrison Apple Records box set came out, I wanted to create a compilation that gathered up everything (song / mix / edit) that was released somewhere in the world that was not included on any of his box sets (Apple / Bangla Desh / Dark Horse / Wilburys), nor was on Brainwashed or Early Takes Vol. 1. It wound up being three cds. I liked it so much, I even made cover + disc art for it, utilizing Alvarortega's masterful "What Is Life" video + various LP labels respectively:
I haven't done any single-artist compilations in years. I would like to complete my Bee Gees Singles A & B series some day; I got through The Australia Years 1963-1966; The Atco and Polydor Years 1967-1969; and The Atco and Polydor Years Part 2, 1969-1972. But I haven't continued with the RSO Years. Part of the reason I stopped was because I didn't have all the singles from the Mr. Natural album. Perhaps some day I'll pick it up again. As for various-artists conps, I do a CD of Christmas music every year. Also, after a 10-year hiatus, I resumed my series called A Few of My Favorite Things, on which I include at least 79 minutes of music without repeating any artist. The first new one I did in a decade was in a marathon session on February 16, 2016. Here is A Few of My Favorite Things, Volume 42. 1. It Hurts to Be in Love - Gene Pitney 2. Girls Talk - Dave Edmunds 3. Hot n Cold - Katy Perry 4. We Can't Hide It Anymore - Larry Santos 5. Life in a Northern Town - The Dream Academy 6. Creep - Radiohead ("very special" version) 7. Probably Wouldn't Be This Way - LeAnn Rimes 8. Son-of-a-Preacher-Man - Dusty Springfield 9. I Want It That Way - Backstreet Boys 10. Don't Answer Me - The Alan Parsons Project 11. Why Can't I? - Liz Phair (radio edit) 12. I Got a Line on You - Spirit 13. Do Ya - Electric Light Orchestra 14. Absolutely Everybody - Vanessa Amorosi 15. Sweet Cream Ladies, Forward March - The Box Tops (mono single version) 16. Three Wooden Crosses - Randy Travis 17. Rock Lobster - The B-52's (LP length) 18. Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio featuring L.V. 19. Let's Dance - David Bowie (single version) 20. Sink the Bismarck - Johnny Horton 21. Black Horse and the Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall 22. The Revolution Will Not Be Televised - Gil Scott-Heron
If you ever get the butchered single edit of "Throw A Penny", I'd like to hear it! Apparently it's a total disaster.
Love your comp! I think there's enough George presence on the Jim Capaldi track "Love's Got A Hold On Me" that you could include that on disc 3. One question: What is "Come On In My Kitchen"?

I made a Sir George Martin "in memoriam" compilation that I spent way more time on than I thought I would, and it came out quite nicely. I posted it in the Sir George thread, and my post was pretty detailed, so I won't repost it here. But if you want to see the tracks and ignore my blathering, it's here: Rest in Peace Sir George Martin »
