    Thanks for the link!

As with most things, the young, elderly and otherwise respiratory-compromised are at risk regardless of actual output.

...to the general disclaimer we could probably add pregnant women and immune compromised individuals, etc.

And to think, in this hobby folks use cleaning liquids that don't fully disclose ingredients, run uncaged high voltage tubes, mercury vapor tubes, ion guns, blah, blah, blah. We're still safer than most.

I always had static trouble with Thorens TT with the original mat. Now I have a Rega RP3 with Rega mat & no trouble.

Granted they are not cheap, but you will never have to replace it as long as something bad doesn't happen to it. They are really easy to clean and they look good too.

Ive never had to replace any mat before.
My $30 deer hide is super easy to clean too. Looks wise, its unbeatable. The seller will even cut it to your specific platter size.
    This is what I have.

That cork turntable mat from auction did nothing to stop static pops from what I can tell. Brand new perfect vinyl still pops after being wet vac cleaned twice. Maybe that deer skin mat...

Use an OEM rubber mat and a humidifier.

Sounds like a unique environment issue. As said above, humidifying your room and/or home may be the way.

Yeah it will have to wait until it gets into the home theater closet which is under construction. Right now it's in an open floor plan living room and a humidifier would do very little, but that closet will be 7 x 8' easily controllable.

Would you recommend replacing my stock technics 1200 rubber mat with this?

From a friend who upgraded to the A23 Hommage.
He asked if I wanted to try the Standard mat out, I said sure, why not?
I had no idea it would make such a profound improvement.
After about five different LPs to get a handle on what it was bringing to the 'table, I knew I had to get one.
Between the A23 SUT/Denon 103 pairing and this mat, my system has gotten exponentially more musical.
Keith Acshenbrenner really knows what he's doing.

I dont see why not. My Denon came with a rubber mat also. I swapped it in favor of the deer skin.
