I am considering a new low output MC cartridge in the €2k range.

A friend of mine is recommending me the Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC ☆. The starred version of the low output version of the Zephyr.

Does somebody here has experience and thoughts about this cartridge? Thank you.

    P.S. I know it's not a moving coil....

I have it. LOVE it. There are plenty of reviews available, too :)

My experience is that does a great job with rendering detail and creating a broad soundstage. It is just a great value, if that can be said about a cart that cost $2k ;)

Have the non star version...to me it represents the perfect balance between detail and warmth. Incredible channel separation and soundstage plus affordable retipping.

Plus Peter is a helluva guy and always willing to help.

Ordered a VPI Prime on Friday and included this cartridge. Looking forward to hearing it late this week!

Mikey Fremer raved about it. Some of the online stores have offered $500 off this cartridge with trade in of any cartridge.

    Finally received mine today.
    (Replaced an Ortofon cadenza red)

    Very impressed.
Super separation. I have never really heard my records sound like this.
Each instrument is so much more life, so precise.
    I’m digging it.
