I would suggest that they were aware of her, but most of their influences would also be influences that she herself had.
no surprises there. a great deal of great music isn't on streaming and likely never will be, due to licensing fees and calculated returns
Slade do not do streaming, as their managers firmly believe that the way to listen to their music is to buy it, so the band get their income.
I own a lovely 16mm scope print of SLADE IN FLAME. It's the only print I've known about. Ever. Color is still excellent, but man, some of those accents are difficult. I'm looking for a theatrical poster - UK one-sheet preferred - I don't think the film was ever released in the USA but if someone has other knowledge I'd really like to know. Thanks chaps.
A friend of mine did some lovely restored reproductions of the film poster for charity. I will see if there is a prospect of another run of them.
Big fan here; I saw Slade live in Belgrade in 1979 and it was one of the best gigs I ever attended in my life.
This song is awesome- never heard this one before. I’ll be looking for this album. Thanks for posting
Slade in Flame is (Far Far Away) one of the best rock movies I've seen from the '70s. Surprisingly gritty and you get to visit those WWII sea forts that were used for one of the offshore pirate stations. Almost as good as The Harder They Come.
Dave Hill threw up everywhere while those scenes were filmed. The only real 'cutting room floor' stuff from the film.
Good group. I loved the film "Slade in Flame" (or just "Flame"?). Good soundtrack. Noddy Holder is a national treasure.
212 page softback discography with career highlights, fully illustrated in colour. Available on Amazon early Feb. It took a few months to write and has been a bit of a labour of love. People have written books about Slade, but none have discussed on their music. Lots of research and band quotes (some very recent with questions asked for the book).
This reminds me of my favorite book on Marc Bolan. A whopping 370 pages. All in German though. http://www.rocknroll-schallplatten-...p?p=6162&sid=b6cdb41474ec6beca64643b1de957a66 Darryl
