    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your support! We appreciate it very much.

The Winter C.E.S. is being held in Lost Wages on January 8-11.

To those of you going, come see Sam Passamano and I at the Alexis Park (across the street from the Hard Rock). We will be in the main pavillion sharing a booth with Cisco Music (Super Analogue Disc).

Beginning Tueday afternoon, until Friday morning, we would love to say howdy to you.

Some of our buddies will be there too, I'm sure: Shawn B. from MFSL, the amazing Stan Ricker, everyone's favorite vacuum tube mastering engineer Doug Sax, Chad K., Kevin Gray, Robert Pincus, David Robinson, Dave Glackin, Mikey Fremer, Bob Siner, Bill Straw from Blix Street Records, Kevin Hayes & Kevin Carter of VAC, The Disc Doctor and countless other Audiophile Industry Nice Guys will be milling around, and showing neat new Audiophile products in their booths and rooms...

    It's a lot of fun.

    For more information, go here:
    http://www.cesweb.org/

Hope to see you there in 2002!

Steve wants to hand out resumes! :D Just Kidding! As if anyone there doesn't already know his capabilities... Wish I could go, but I would have a hard time convincing the wife that this is a necessary expense. Have a great time, and let us know what you find!

    Hey Steve,

One more thing while I got your eye. THANKS!

It's really nice that ya keep on doin' what your doin'. Really warms my heart & soul to see ya Fedex DCC's to people no questions asked, try to help rookies (like me) score decent hardware, stick w/ us when we ask questions that must b very basic to ya, and never talk down to us. If the rest of us were as nice as ya, this would b a really hip place.

    Thanks again,
    Jeffrey

I'm going to CES. I will make it a point to stop in at the Alexis Park and give my regards.

The DCC version of the first Doors album sure changed my life (to use a Mr. Bill Inglot expression). After that, I had to start collecting DCC discs!

Then I heard the DCC "Night Moves". Wow. My Capitol CD went directly to my "trade" pile.

    Thanks again, Steve!

Great info Steve. I'll be sure to check that booth. The good part is...I'm gonna get paid to go soak in all that great gear and sounds.

Steve just a thought of curiousity. When you go to the CES and are surrounded by other companies like Capitol do they ever ask you how you do such great mastering and want you to do any of their products?
I would think that they'd be beggin' you to do some remasters for them unless,"sigh" they really don't give a hoot about quality.

They probably don't give a hoot, because it hardly ever comes up.

Most engineers who work at various companies think that their "vision" is the correct one, including me!

I will say that no one usually discusses their work ethic at CES. It's more of a schmoozefest type thing. Everybody makes nice once a year. It's fun, actually.

Well Steve all I've got to say about that is: Are all these other engineers deaf or on ludes?
    Gee is my bias showing?

    Hey Dave,

Your 714 theory jells w/ Steve's statement that everybody makes nice once a yr. Geez, free lemons at the scene should certainly double attendance. As Kesey used to say, ya only go thru life once so b sure to get your ticket punched.

At Least I'm Enjoyin' The Ride,

A couple of 4 hit Purple Owsley's used to give me a good ride. Even "Got Live If You Want It" sounded good back then.

  14. I'll be looking forward to seeing you and Sam and the other audiophile luminaries at Alexis Park in 3 weeks, Steve! Also want to wish you and the DCC Family a terrific holiday season and a prosperous company restart for 2002. :D

I wish I could come. I'd love to meet you all in person. That would be cool. I don't know a whole lot of audiophiles in person.....

Could someone At CES give Stan Ricker a big hearty handshake for me? Tell him thank you for cutting possibly the best vinyl I've ever heard?

Oh, and then rub your hand on a napkin and mail it to me. :D

    Steve,

I'll be there! I be sure to come by Booth 1753 (Symposium Acoustics, Great picture on pg. 43 of Stereophile!)

Maybe we can go to breakfast? Is Jerry and his wife going also? I'm ready for another Q and A session. I've got your back!

    Elton ;)
