Anyone have a preamp recommendation for me?

I have a Nottingham Ace Spacedeck w/Jelco Tk850 and Nagaoka mp500 and:
- Musical Surroundings Nova 3
- Rogue Stereo 100 tube amp

speakers I’m not sure what I will end up buying, was hoping for JBL 4429 but they are now discontinued so I’m considering Unison research Max 1.

Just to be clear, are you talking about a phono preamp or stereo preamp?

 

Without a budget for a guideline, no.

I'd opt for the perfect Preamp mate for your Stereo 100, the Rogue RP-5 which includes an excellent Phono Stage as well.

 

So not an integrated, just line stage? Any digital capabilities required like a DAC, digital ins, etc?

If just a straight up preamp / line stage and that budget, I say look for a used Accuphase C-2420. I have the C-2410, it is scary good. I got mine for $3K + shipping.

You'll have to be patient though and probably buy 100V from Japan, it will end up being around $4K US. Not the route many would take, but again very good.

There's always a Parasound JC2 BP too.
