Yes, this is what I understood as well Keith. However, with that said my Japanese 1st pressings of Dark Side and Abbey Road do not have it and I never use EZ CD Creator after comparing it against EAC's end results which has never detected it on any CD. Show me the money! ;)

    We have an update...

I just got off the phone with the president of eBay's secretary. She understands completely and is sympathetic as to what we are seeing. She told me that we are more aware of this type of scam and much more informed than any eBay employee. She has said that she will make certain that the company, she did tell me the name but I don't remember, that is responsible for Beatles recordings distribution in N. America will get this information as they are the only ones that can pull the trigger for legal action in these particular cases. She knows about all 3 sellers we have encountered since we started to discuss these fake auction sellers. Let's hope this is the conclusion of all this.

Someone should make a thread on the Beatles newsgroup, it will reach a lot of people.

Something like "WARNING: Fake Japanese "Abbey Road" CD's on eBay!" and the names of the sellers and a link to this thread. I don't have my news server set up so I can't do it right now.

    Hi Guys,

All this fake Abbey Road talk is getting me Abbey Road nervous. Attached is a scan of my disc and insert. I noticed that my disc looks the same but the insert is a little different at the bottom - some Japanese writing missing. The matrix number is CP35-3016-11 then 141 further on the ring.

    What say you experts?

    Tom,
Best Beatle bud of mine!! Not to worry, you got the real deal and at a deal. :D Trust me even I checked my disk. As long as your disc has that matrix number on that silver inner ring, you don't have a CD-R. You have an original as I do!
    Honest!!!
    BT :agree: :D

Tom, your disc is legit. It could be that your booklet was simply cropped differently than the other one you were looking at, causing some of the text to get cut off of your booklet.

I just noticed that way2skinny04 and iluvkaykay are not currently offering any items on eBay. However, they're feedback pages do not indicate that their memberships are inactive. I wonder if they will be back.

A little bird told me that they might be inactive for a while because of certain contact by certain rights holders of certain artists.

The difference in the graphics that you mentioned may be due to the fact that your scan is of a disc and the back of the **booklet**, whereas my earlier scans were of the disc and the tray card.

So no worries-- yours looks fine! :D

"nogreenbeans" has re-listed his cd. Last time, he used the exact same description and pictures as the other fakes. Now he has "borrowed" a picture of a cd from an auction that ended in early December.

    Here is his listing:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=307&item=4707278312&rd=1

Here is the auction that he borrowed the cd picture from:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=307&item=4058285425&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Maybe he does indeed have a legit cd and just can't take his own pictures, but I'd be very reluctant to deal with him.

I guess we will know if he suddenly has an unlimited supply of these to sell.

This one is a smart one and I'm certain others will follow. You'll notice he waits the 90 days from a previous one. He did slip up with his Swan fake though as there's 2 copies available to view.
