Ours is still empty, as is the former Circuit City space across the plaza that closed several years ago.

The Borders in Geelong is one of those 'crazy' $5 book stores now.

The one on Church Street in downtown Burlington, VT reopened a few weeks ago as a City Sports. Borders was 2 floors of that building, I think they are putting offices upstairs.

The closest one to me became a Books A Million.

To think I used to plan a CD expedition covering The Wiz, Circuit City and the music store in the mall, as well as a higher-end equipment dealer, on that same street! Then Best Buy and Borders came along. Now only Best Buy's still standing.

The old Borders in Overland Park, Kansas, has reopened as a health food chain store.

Our local Border's store was rented out very quickly after it closed. The Border's became a Binny's, a liquor store chain that is mainly in the Chicago area.

The Borders by my house has been empty since 2006.
They moved up the street then chain went out of business.
In same center where it was is a empty hollywood video
    Mattress gallery, old Gateway store.

The whole center should be plowed under and made into a park.

No, I don't know what's up with that building. I don't get over there all that often, so I've not driven past...

Here in Maine, the South Portland and Bangor Borders reopened as BAM, as did the Waldenbooks in the Auburn Mall. The South Portland was one of the most profitable, highest-volume locations in the entire Borders chain. I've been to the BAM in SoPo and they did very minimal renovations, but they were very busy on a typical weekday. The Brunswick location is still vacant AFAIK.
